The Organizing & Advocacy Fellowship
As an Organizing & Advocacy fellow for 50+1 Strategies, you will work closely with our Campaigns Team on a wide array of consulting and base-building related projects for our clients. You will execute advocacy campaigns by coordinating and organizing efforts across departments.
What you will do:
Depending on your assigned project(s), interest area, and/or experience, your day-to-day responsibilities as a fellow may include any of the following:
- Support on advocacy and coalition outreach, follow-up, and stakeholder communication.
- Support drafting client-facing campaign plans, reports and memos, campaign budgets, research and written content, and training materials.
- Provide planning and project management support for our various campaigns including agenda setting, coordination and communication with other stakeholders.
- Executing virtual and in-person events and actions, including coordinating logistics, managing agendas, attendee outreach and monitoring/reporting on event performance.
- Aid in demographic and voter contact research.
- Craft and implement voter and volunteer engagement plans.
Who you are:
- You are passionate about promoting progressive causes and have an interest in grassroots organizing and local politics. Previous experience in political campaigns, public service, or a demonstrated commitment to progressive causes is preferable, but not required.
- You are people-centered, have the ability to work with diverse groups, and will bring sensitivity and appreciation for cultural differences
- You are committed to collaborative teamwork, excited to try new things and able to thrive in ever changing electoral and political environments
- You bring superior time management, project planning, organizational, relationship-building, and communications skills
- Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
