Tech Enablement & AI Integration Manager

The Tech Enablement & AI Integration Manager will lead the automation and AI integration of 17a’s internal processes to optimize operational efficiency as we work to improve public service delivery.
What you’ll do:
- Assess and recommend tools: Conduct a fast but thoughtful audit of how we currently work (Slack, Dropbox, LinkedIn Recruiter, Notion, email, etc.) and identify where better tools or better usage could make a meaningful difference.
- Implement systems: Set up agentic processes for our internal functions (e.g., business development, recruiting, project performance, and team experience) and create smart project dashboards and CRM systems using tools like Zapier, Make, or custom AI agents. This will include quality-testing, roll-out, and processes for continuous improvement.
- Support team onboarding and tech hygiene: Ensure new hires or collaborators have what they need (access, walkthroughs, checklists), and develop lightweight ways to maintain clarity over time.
- Bridge operations and tech: Work closely with our operations and project teams to understand their needs and translate those into systems that support, not complicate, our work. We’re seeking a results-oriented technologist who can automate the rote aspects of operations, freeing the team up for critical needs, edge-cases, and processes that require a human touch.
- Lead internal tech experiments: From AI workflows to shared knowledge repositories, help us run smart, small experiments that test ways to make our internal work smoother and smarter.

As our work expands, we’re looking for someone to help us tech-enable our team and operations. We don’t need extensive engineering — we need someone who can understand our work, help us see opportunities to reduce friction, select tools that fit our needs, and work with our leadership and operations team to embed them in ops to make us faster, clearer, and more capable.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Loves new tech and tools, and has direct experience implementing internal technology and tools, and recent experience using AI to solve business operations problems
- Has direct experience embedding technology in fast moving teams (e.g., start-ups, small organizations)
- Knows the modern “no-code” stack (Airtable, Notion, Zapier, Slack integrations, etc.)
- Can translate a fuzzy need into a smart, working solution
- Is systems-minded but not bureaucratic — you think in terms of workflows, not templates for templates’ sake
- Enjoys moving between high-level strategy and hands-on implementation
- Brings curiosity, generosity, and a low-ego approach to collaboration

Strong preference for candidates with experience using AI to solve business challenges in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization. Excitement about driving results, fact-paced collaboration and leveraging new technology to improve operational efficiency will be important to this role!
We’re open to structuring this as a full-time role, part-time contract, or contract-to-hire — depending on your availability and the fit we find together. Compensation will range from $125-175k and will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
