OVERVIEW

The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) is the official arm of the Democratic National Committee responsible for planning the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago from August 19-22, 2024. The Democratic National Convention is the formal event where Democrats from all 50 states and the U.S. territories will gather in Chicago to rally behind the Biden-Harris nomination, celebrate our achievements over this past term, and chart a path for the future. Primetime programming will be held at the United Center and other party activities will be conducted at the McCormick Place Convention Center, both planned in close coordination with the Chicago Host Committee, City of Chicago, State of Illinois, and the Biden for President campaign.


The DNCC aims to build a platform for President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats to tell our story to the American people about a proven track record of historic accomplishments and the stakes of the election. The 2024 convention will pull in more Americans than ever before, bringing back the beloved traditions of past conventions and building on the innovative elements from the virtual convention.

SUMMARY

The Manager of Studio 2024 assists in the planning and execution of the DNCC’s in-house, live-broadcast studio footprint. The Studio 2024 team provides state-of-the-art studio spaces for surrogates and content creators to deliver messaging to key states and audiences via remote TV interviews, radio call in interviews, podcast interviews, live programming, and other creative digital engagement opportunities.

This position is within the Communications Department. The Communications Department is responsible for creating and implementing the communications strategy, messaging, and narrative for the Democratic National Convention. During the Convention, the Communications Department will execute an integrated media, surrogates, digital, and logistics plan to showcase the vision of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats to the American people.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • The Manager of Studio 2024 reports to the Director of Studio 2024.
  • The Manager of Studio 2024 will work in tandem with the Studio 2024 team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the execution of the studio programming strategy, design, and build of Studio 2024.
  • Coordinate logistics including meetings, site visits, transportation and space allocation for Studio 2024 team.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to align schedules and ensure timely execution of all activities.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the Studio, including coordinating with technical personnel, consultants and volunteers and maintaining detailed documentation of studio procedures and workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with senior principals, celebrities, influencers and other notable guests.
  • Digital media and post-production experience is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, solve problems, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Extremely well organized with superior attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, sense of humor and ability to work well on a team.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism.
  • Flexibility and openness to evolving responsibilities.
  • Willingness to be a proactive team member to help accomplish the goals of the Convention.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The DNCC will mainly operate out of the Headquarters Office, but will also maintain a number of satellite offices and additional venues. All of these spaces are professional office environments, and will require the operation of office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. This position mainly uses an assigned workstation but may require movement or maintaining a stationary position for short or long periods of time. Employees may be asked to do tasks requiring dexterity or lifting items weighing up to 25 lbs. All employees may request reasonable accommodation to perform their job tasks.

ANTICIPATED START DATE: June 18, 2024

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

TRAVEL: There is no travel expected for this position.

FLSA ELIGIBILITY: This is an exempt position under the FLSA.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The anticipated starting salary for this position is $85K annualized. The DNCC offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
