Print and Mail Operations Manager

Department Leadership & Team Development
- Provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight for the Print & Mail department, ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and quality standards.
- Supervise and develop one direct report, fostering skill growth, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Establish clear departmental goals aligned with company objectives, track performance metrics, and drive process improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Data, IT, and Accounting teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all print and mail production schedules to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Validate project specifications, artwork, proofs, and mail data for quality control, postal compliance, and production readiness.
- Lead vendor relationships for printing, mailing, and logistics services; evaluate performance and negotiate terms to achieve best-value outcomes.
- Maintain control of department inventory, materials, and postage accounts to ensure continuity and cost management.
USPS Compliance & Postal Strategy
- Serve as the company’s primary authority on USPS regulations, presort standards, address quality, and delivery optimization.
- Manage USPS permits, PO boxes, and Business Customer Gateway profiles, ensuring full compliance and continuity across divisions.
- Analyze presort data, mail tracking, and postage reporting for cost savings and performance improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Accounting and Project Management to reconcile postage, manage invoicing, and resolve discrepancies.
Process Improvement & Technology
- Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements to mailing workflows, technology platforms, and reporting tools.
- Champion automation and quality-assurance initiatives that improve speed, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
- Evaluate emerging industry technologies and trends to maintain AB Data’s competitive edge in production efficiency and compliance.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in print and mail operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, or a related area, with prior experience in print and mail operations preferred.

Strong working knowledge of USPS operations, mailing standards, and Business Customer Gateway functionality

Familiarity with the print production process, including design, proofing, bindery, and variable data printing.

Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain postal and production concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

High level of organization, detail orientation, and problem-solving ability.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; comfortable learning and using industry-specific software.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 to $75,000
This is a salaried position that works a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote). This position is located in our Milwaukee Office.
