Position: Intern – Programs, Partnerships/Fundraising, or Ecosystem Support Duration: 3 months (full-time or part-time) Location: Remote

About Accountability Lab

Accountability Lab is a global network making governance work for people everywhere by supporting active citizens, responsible leaders, and accountable institutions. We build creative campaigns, develop new ideas for accountability, and support changemakers to unleash positive social and political change. We work across more than a dozen countries to develop and share new approaches for accountability that work for everyone.

Position Overview

The intern will support Accountability Lab’s work in one of three streams, depending on interest, skills, and organizational needs:

  1. Programs – Support the design, delivery, and monitoring of programs focused on integrity, inclusion, social ecosystem strengthening, govtech, and civic participation.
  2. Partnerships/Fundraising – Assist in research, proposal development, donor outreach, and communications to grow and sustain partnerships.
  3. Ecosystem Support – Contribute to network-building activities, research, knowledge sharing, and resource coordination to strengthen the broader civic ecosystem.

This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in governance, civic innovation, and nonprofit management while contributing to a dynamic, values-driven global team.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the stream, responsibilities may include:

Programs

  • Support implementation of ongoing projects, including event coordination, participant engagement, and content creation.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
  • Conduct desk research to inform program design and strategy.

Partnerships/Fundraising

  • Research potential donors, partners, and funding opportunities.
  • Support drafting and editing of grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
  • Assist with developing pitch materials, presentations, and case studies.

Ecosystem Support

  • Map and research relevant stakeholders and partner organizations.
  • Support knowledge management, including compiling tools, templates, and learning resources.
  • Assist with the coordination of collaborative activities.

General Tasks Across Streams

  • Contribute to internal team meetings and planning sessions.
  • Support social media and communications outputs where relevant.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the assigned stream.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant sector (international development, political science, communications, public policy, or related disciplines)
  • Interest in governance, civic engagement, human rights, or international development.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable working with a global, multicultural team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; experience with design or data tools a plus.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic) are an asset.
