Agog, a groundbreaking nonprofit organization at the intersection of technology, communications, and social impact, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team.
We’re looking for a Project Manager who will play a key role in ensuring our organization's slate of projects run smoothly. You will oversee a wide range of initiatives, from marketing campaigns to events to new operational tools, working to keep everything on track and everyone on the same page.
This role is ideal for someone who loves being in the early stages of a new, quickly-growing organization. You'll need to embrace a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment and to be comfortable juggling multiple priorities, collaborating with different teams, and taking initiative to solve problems as they arise.
US-based remote role with a preference for candidates based in Seattle, LA, or the Bay Area.
The Project Manager will support a dynamic portfolio of projects that span across the organization, from marketing and communications to programmatic initiatives and operations.
Responsibilities include:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and manage project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate tasks and resources to ensure projects stay on track.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and roadblocks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the main point of contact for project teams and stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear communication and collaboration across teams.
- Ensure alignment and accountability across all project contributors.
Process Improvement:
- Help establish and refine project management processes for the organization.
- Facilitate project retrospectives and capture lessons learned.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Financial Oversight:
- Track and manage project budgets.
- Monitor resource allocation and identify potential bottlenecks.
Strategic Alignment:
- Ensure projects align with Agog's overall mission and strategic goals.
- Support the annual planning process and quarterly reviews.
Example projects might include:
- Brand, marketing, and communications: Scope and manage initiatives like website enhancements, development of new brand collateral (videos, presentations, etc.), and marketing communications.
- Events and convenings: Provide end-to-end support for Agog’s events, managing the program design process, invitation and registration processes, developing detailed run-of-show documents, coordinating third party vendors and speaker logistics, and providing on-site support.
- Strategy and planning: Support the annual planning process and quarterly business reviews, validating timing and resourcing for initiatives, and updating project plans and key milestones in Agog’s planning tool.
- Operations: Collaborate with the Chief of Staff and Operations Manager in the development and roll-out of new operational tools, like Salesforce, organizational dashboards, etc.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in project management
- A proven track record of managing diverse projects, ideally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- The ability to quickly adapt to new teams and workflows, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption
- The ability to think ahead and see around corners, anticipating, identifying and resolving issues that arise during project execution
- Comfort with working in a startup environment
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate across teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency in project management tools like Notion, Google Suite, and Asana or Trello
- A basic understanding of Wordpress and markdown for web content management is a plus
- Experience with XR hardware (e.g., Quest headsets) and familiarity with ArborXR preferred but not required
- Prior experience in event programming across different platforms (e.g. IRL, Zoom/Teams, and virtual platforms such as VRChat) is beneficial
- A demonstrated interest in social impact, technology, and/or the XR space
$125,000 - $150,000 a year
