Position Overview
Do you have a passion for communications, health care policy, and progressive causes? alignco is seeking an Assistant to join our fast-growing team.
alignco partners with foundations, non-profits, trade associations, candidates, and advocacy groups to bring their stories to life in the most relatable, compelling ways. Our team of strategists and changemakers have decades of experience defining, shaping, and elevating some of the most complicated and divisive issues of our day.
This entry-level Assistant role will provide day-to-day administrative, scheduling and operational support to founding partners, Alison Betty and David Smith. The Assistant will play a critical role in keeping the organization running smoothly by managing calendars, coordinating logistics, organizing workflow and helping prioritize daily responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support to founding partners, including calendar management, scheduling and logistical coordination.
- Assist with organization, prioritization and day-to-day workflow management.
- Work with colleagues, partners, and vendors to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
- Prepare and organize materials for meetings, calls and internal planning sessions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support efficient operations and internal processes.
- Assist with general administrative needs as they arise, including work travel booking, event and meeting preparation and office management.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years or more of professional or internship experience in strategic communications, campaigns, marketing, social media, or related work environments.
- Intellectually curious, high news consumer and civically oriented.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong appreciation for schedules and systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
- Devotion to progressive causes with an emphasis on healthcare reform but also breaking down barriers that contribute to structural racism, addressing systemic inequities, and promoting support for children and families such as paid family leave, childcare, Medicaid, and SNAP.
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in a communications-related field.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $50,000-$60,000. Actual salary is determined by a number of factors including skill set and experience relative to the requirements of this role. In addition, alignco provides a substantial benefits package, including:

alignco is currently offering a hybrid work model. Team members are expected to work from the office in Dupont Circle three days a week, and other days as needed. Team members have the opportunity to work remotely two days a week and sometimes during August. Our hybrid work model is subject to change.
