About InReach

We are InReach, a trans-led tech nonprofit building the world’s first open source verified LGBTQ+ resource platform. InReach is available on web (desktop and mobile), native iOS, and Android. Our vision is to ensure every trans and queer person has on-demand access to the safe resources they need to thrive. Over 420,000 people have used InReach to access verified LGBTQ+ resources.

About the Role

Program & Operations Interns will work directly with InReach’s Managing Director to support day-to-day operations, including app support community outreach, fundraising, and running our Young Professionals Board (YPB) program. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations while helping expand a life-saving platform built for the diverse LGBTQ+ community.

Internship Details
  • Summer 2025 Dates: Monday, June 2 – Friday, August 8, 2025
  • Required hours per week: 15 (*interns can select their own hours–Monday through Friday–based on their schedule/time zone; all interns will use InReach's volunteer management system to log their hours for accountability)
  • Location: Fully remote (from anywhere in the United States, Canada or Mexico)
  • Compensation: Unpaid (InReach staff can assist with academic credit if applicable—please indicate this in your application.)
Responsibilities
App Support Community Outreach
  • Represent InReach in introductory calls and platform demo meetings with LGBTQ+ centers, public libraries, and other direct service providers and community organizations.
  • Conduct online research to identify new affirming direct service providers to suggest for inclusion on the free InReach platform (suggestions will then be independently verified by InReach’s Resource Team).
  • Distribute InReach marketing materials in-person and/or online to increase awareness.
  • Identify and reach out to related websites to secure new link referrals to improve InReach’s search engine optimization (SEO).
Young Professionals Board (YPB) Program
  • Support the management and growth of the YPB program by developing new materials and programming to enhance the experience of YPB members and program advisors.
  • Meet with YPB members and advisors to gather feedback, evaluate performance, and ensure the program continues to grow and meet participant needs.
  • Create marketing materials and social media content to promote the YPB program.
Fundraising
  • Research and identify new foundation grants and corporate partnership opportunities for InReach.
  • Assist in planning and executing peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns to expand individual donor engagement.
  • Draft email campaigns (using MailChimp) featuring key updates and calls to action to keep supporters informed and engaged.
Who You Are
  • Pursuing or have obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Reliable access to a computer and internet connection.
  • Available for 15 hours per week (Monday–Friday).
  • Passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and eager to learn.
  • Experience in program management, fundraising, community outreach, and/or digital marketing is a plus.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment using tools like G Suite, POINT (volunteer management platform for tracking hours), Discord, and Zoom.
