ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN AND CREATIVE SERVICES TEAM
The Campaign and Creative Services Team works with Democratic candidates and progressive organizations at the forefront of the nation's most pressing issues. Our team of experienced political strategists, creatives, ad-makers, branding experts and data analysts combine television, direct mail, digital ads and political strategy with data-driven analysis to help our clients develop sophisticated campaigns that are delivered to the right people.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
BerlinRosen is seeking a Director of Operations to join our Campaign and Creative Services team. This new role will focus on supporting our team’s growth by managing team operations and increasing profitability through controlling costs and creating the conditions for excellence for our team members. This person will drive financial performance by putting the resources in place for efficiency and excellence, controlling external costs and ensuring every team member has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical and team-oriented person who wants to make a difference in the world and is ready to bring their first-class organizational chops to the table to elevate the team around them.
This role reports directly to our team’s leader(s).
Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y., or Washington, D.C. offices on a hybrid basis. Campaign and Creative Services team members are in-office 2-3 days per week. Proof of vaccination is required to work in any of BerlinRosen’s offices.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
As the Director of Operations on the Campaign & Creative Services team, you will drive financial and operational performance by putting the resources in place for efficiency and excellence and controlling external costs through:
- Managing the team’s finance and administrative staff (multiple direct reports during busy season), client finance and vendor invoices
- Forecasting staffing needs to ensure we are hiring at optimal levels to meet business trends
- Ensuring internal systems meet team needs such as ease-of-use, integration with existing systems and best cost value
- Managing relationships with external vendors, including negotiating pricing agreements
- Working together with finance staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting on business performance
- Manage and organize marketing materials and social media accounts
- Oversee team revenue and budget forecasts
As well as ensuring every team member has the opportunity to reach their full potential by:
- Managing client assignments for junior account executive staff
- Coordinating internal trainings and professional development
- Partnering in creating new policies to foster excellence in performance
- Overseeing internal team performance reviews
- Scheduling team meetings
- In conjunction with the firm’s talent team, coordinating hiring of new staff
Essential skills:
- 3+ years of experience in an operations, finance or other management role
- Analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends and determine the relationship of resource inputs to deliverable outputs
- High level of organizational intelligence, meticulous attention to detail and an ability to multitask
- A problem-solving orientation
- The ability to research, select and implement systems to support the team’s work
- Experience negotiating with vendors and other stakeholders
- Team management experience
Preferred skills:
- Experience on a political consulting or marketing team

WORKING AT BERLINROSEN
Compensation philosophy: BerlinRosen offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience and is as follows:
- Starting minimum: $80,000
- Role cap: $100,000
This role is eligible for end of year bonuses on even years based on firm, team and individual performance.
