Senior Manager/Director of System Operations & Analytics
Cambiar Education
Overview
Cambiar Education seeks a highly motivated, strategic, and systems-minded Senior Manager/Director of System Operations & Analytics to organize, synthesize, and manage information and data across our operations. This isn't just a role; it's a chance to shape how we operate. You will be the architect behind managing critical information and data flow across our entire organization. This newly created leadership position is all about bringing structure, clarity, and continuous improvement to our internal grantmaking, external fundraising efforts, and cross-functional project delivery.
The ideal candidate is a master analyst and problem-solver who thrives in dynamic, evolving environments. You should be someone who effortlessly shifts between big-picture strategic foresight, practical operational planning, and getting your hands dirty with execution. You will be pivotal in driving strategic learning by organizing our internal knowledge, dissecting data, and pinpointing market insights and opportunities for the team. We need someone who is a lightning-fast learner, can take the reins without constant direction, and genuinely loves the process of designing and building something from scratch. For you, the journey of learning and refining is just as exciting as reaching the destination.
Submit your application by August 1, 2025 for priority consideration.
What you’ll do:
This role is designed to provide high-impact and cross-functional support to Cambiar Education's Operation team, and will report to Elise Pierpont, the Special Projects Lead.
The emphasis and time allocation across responsibilities will fluctuate based on evolving organizational priorities and operational needs. The ideal candidate is someone who can seamlessly shift focus, manage competing deadlines, and maintain a high level of execution across multiple workstreams – ensuring Cambiar’s infrastructure remains agile, compliant, and mission-aligned.
You will be collaborating with passionate program teams, our finance team, and external consultants, acting as a bridge between the strategic, programmatic, and financial aspects of our organization.
1. Systems Operations & Analytics
One of the first workstreams you’ll take on is Grants Operations. Cambiar is both a grant recipient and a grantmaker, strategically positioned to receive funding in support of its mission and to regrant funds to partner organizations that advance shared goals. You'll be the driving force behind the entire lifecycle of grants management – from initial intake all the way through close-out – for both the grants we issue and the funding we receive.
Beyond administration, you’ll be instrumental in fueling our programmatic work. You'll lead the charge in identifying and evaluating potential funding sources by conducting in-depth market research, analyzing funding trends and the competitive landscape to inform our grant strategy, and developing a comprehensive pipeline and prioritization framework for grant opportunities. You’ll then distill these findings into clear recommendations for our leadership and program teams. This includes expertly managing and analyzing grants and contracts.
2. Project & Change Management
In addition to Grant Operations, and other areas that require systems and analytics, you will lead and support a diverse range of cross-functional initiatives that drive Cambiar’s operational excellence and strategic objectives forward.
Acting as an internal consultant and project manager, you'll partner with departments across the organization to scope, plan, and execute high-priority projects – often on tight timelines – all while ensuring alignment with our organizational priorities and a strong systems-based approach. Whether implementing new technology tools, establishing new processes for funder compliance, or facilitating critical system transitions, you will play a central role in building internal capacity, streamlining workflows, and maintaining vital momentum across our teams.
This role is for you if:
- Experience: 7+ years in project management, operations, grants management, or a related field. Proven success managing complex projects in dynamic, mission-driven organizations.
- Strong problem solver: You're a critical thinker with excellent judgment, consistently able to dissect complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective, innovative solutions.
- Detail orientation: You approach tasks with meticulous execution, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in every aspect of your work. Your sharp eye for detail minimizes errors and contributes to high-quality outcomes.
- Technologically Fluent and Quick Learner: You have experience researching, testing, and implementing new tools and subscription services. You like the cutting edge, and thrive in an environment where you can test and learn about the next new thing.
- Agile & Resilient: You don't just tolerate fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities; you thrive in them, adapting quickly and embracing change.
- Exceptional Communicator: You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey complex information clearly and concisely. You excel at building rapport and trust across diverse teams and stakeholders, fostering understanding and alignment.
- Collaborative Team Player: You are a collaborative team player who actively contributes to group success. You value diverse perspectives, share knowledge readily, and work effectively with others to achieve common goals.
- Wildly Curious Learner: You are a natural explorer of ideas, perpetually eager to learn, test new concepts, and delve into complexities, which fuels your ability to adapt and innovate within a dynamic environment.
- Mission-Aligned: You are passionate about educational equity and expanding opportunity for all.
What you’ll get:
- Salary range of $105,000-$140,000 per year depending on experience and aligned title
- Note: Cambiar will evaluate how your experience aligns with the way we assign compensation
- Competitive medical, dental, vision benefits
- Paid vacation and sick time, plus organizationally-observed holidays throughout the year
- Access to optional benefits such as 401(k) Retirement Plan, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), HSA/FSA, pet insurance, etc.
- Stipends to partially cover phone and internet costs, home office set-up, and wellness
- Team retreats and meetings during the year to meet your teammates or see our work in-person
Work environment:
Although our team works remotely, you are expected to engage in overnight travel at least twice throughout the year to various US cities to meet up with other team members (in-person retreats, other program-related meetings and events), and be ready to play an active role in contributing to our collaborative, inclusive culture.
We’re looking for applicants who are comfortable working remotely and who have experience successfully collaborating with team members across different time zones. Your core working days and hours will be M-F from 8am-5pm, with the ability to flex according to workload, scheduled calls, and in-person/virtual meetings.
