The Catalist Technology Department’s Infrastructure team is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting the technologies used by the company. This technology stack is broad and varied, encompassing the core network, servers, operating systems, and the software our teams use to develop and deploy Catalist’s production offerings. The Director of Infrastructure at Catalist will be comfortable across a range of technologies both maintaining our current architecture as well as directly supporting and working with Catalist staff across all departments.

The salary range for this position will be $115,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain Catalist’s core Infrastructure; this includes, but is not limited to, server and network hardware, Operating Systems, core software applications, and regular processes such as backups and disaster recovery
• Plan and scope upgrades and improvements both on-site and in the cloud
• Be the primary owner of Catalist’s security initiatives
  • Maintain and improve core security
  • Lead out on Catalist’s annual SOC2 audit
• Maintain relationships with Catalist’s vendors to source required equipment and software
• Manage and mentor members of the Infrastructure Team
• Provide technical guidance and support across departments on Catalist priority projects
• Be available for occasional work on-site at our co-located data center in Ashburn, VA, including some infrequent nights and weekends
• Be online and available for routine evening deployments and maintenance windows on a weekly basis

• Bachelor's of science degree or equivalent experience
• Act as a player and coach
• Ability to work directly on critical tasks while growing the team’s coverage and skills
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards working and closing tickets
• Act as a logical problem solver who is comfortable tracking issues across the full stack of technologies
• Detail oriented and believe a solution isn’t complete until documented for future reference
• Core Technical Skills: Linux with a focus on CentOS, SQL, Scripting(Bash/Python), Installing and Configuring Software Packages, Documentation, Drafting Policy
• Background check required
