Position Summary: Provides leadership, oversight and development of Rochester-based programs and services, including policy and program development. Ensures the achievement of project goals and objectives consistent with agency mission and contracts. Works closely with the Deputy Director and unit directors to address a range of personnel matters. Participates as a member of the senior management team to enhance agency and program resources. Represents CCA in the media and in local and statewide coalitions and conferences of service providers.
Direct Supervisor: Deputy Director Upstate Services
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Associate Deputy Director will supervise project directors in both Syracuse (Onondaga County) and Rochester (Monroe County) as well as Rochester youth project director.
- Oversee funding reporting to all governmental agencies and other funding sources for these programs.
- Lead expansion of CCA services to underserved communities in Rochester and the Finger Lake region, identifying counties of opportunity, mapping gaps in ATI and reentry services and exploring expansion opportunities by meeting with both public officials and existing service providers.
- Collaborate with Deputy Director of Upstate Services, to support the expansion of CCA services and resources, including policy and technical assistance to address emerging or unmet needs of service populations. Work closely with consultants hired to help CCA expand into new markets.
- Responsible for overseeing, developing, promoting, and implementing program strategy/services in the Rochester area. Includes developing new partnerships, forming collaboration groups, and attending external meetings in person/virtually as needed.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to improve internal and external communications and marketing.
- Responsible for representing CCA before state and local funders of Rochester-based programs.
- Participate in coalitions such as the Council of Agency Executives (Monroe County.)
- Provide program support and leadership to Rochester based programs including, Youth Services, Re-entry Advocacy and Recovery Community & Outreach Center (RCOC).
- Develop a working knowledge of programs offered in Rochester site, along with attending regularly occurring stakeholder meetings.
- Commit to ongoing professional development of self and staff. Participate in in-service and external training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Lived experience with the criminal legal system, though not required, is a significant plus.
- Strong track record as a meticulous implementer who thrives on managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Must have excellent communication (written, verbal and interpersonal), analytic and organizational skills, including the ability to listen and communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet required.
- Willingness and ability to travel to national conferences and meetings. Extensive travel to Monroe County and other expanding markets is required.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to working with disempowered and marginalized populations, particularly persons involved with the criminal/juvenile legal system.
- Experience with criminal/legal programs and affordable housing programs preferred.
