About This Role
Climate Power has an immediate opening for a Rapid Response Producer to join its Creative Department to conceive and execute innovative and original digital video content - inclusive of graphics and effects - for its owned digital platforms, partners and special projects. The ideal candidate will have experience producing compelling digital video content independently and at speed, some experience in politics and/or issue advocacy, and a platform-specific understanding of how to communicate with audiences online.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Rapid Response Video Production: Work with Creative Department and its counterparts in the Digital Department to identify and respond to planned and emerging rapid response opportunities by producing timely and engaging video content - inclusive of graphics and effects - that drives Climate Power’s messaging priorities across the organization’s owned social media platforms.
  • Content Optimization & Trend Awareness: Work closely with Digital Department counterparts to ensure that video content is optimized for specific platforms. Follow trends in video and design and maintain awareness of trends on social media, especially around climate politics.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Reach across Climate Power departments and campaigns to develop, retain, and grow a deep understanding of the organization’s messaging priorities and programmatic goals.
  • Concept Development: Work independently and collaboratively to develop and pitch creative digital video concepts for planned rapid response opportunities.
  • Additional responsibilities as need and capacity dictate.

Essential Qualifications

  • Three years of relevant prior work experience creating digital video assets, inclusive of graphics and effects - ideally at an issue-focused non-profit, political or news organization.
  • Experience producing timely and compelling content in answer to planned and unplanned rapid response scenarios.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop. Proficiency in the full Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Demonstrable in applying and adhering to brand guidelines and understanding composition, typography, and color.
  • Strong understanding of the intersections between climate policy and politics and the news cycle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, keen attention to detail, and workflow organization.
  • Interpersonal skills, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well on and across teams.
  • A strong portfolio of digital video work.
  • Proficiency in Google Workplace and project management applications.

Location & Hours of Operations

  • Climate Power is a remote-first organization based in DC. This position can be located anywhere in the U.S., but must be able to work Monday - Friday 9 am - 6 pm EST, plus weekends and evenings as the work dictates.
Our Hiring Timeline and Process

Our interview process generally involves 3 rounds of interviews, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meets or Zoom. Successful candidates that move forward in the hiring process, may be invited to complete a skills assessment activity (for which they will receive compensation) and will undergo a vetting process, including reference and background check to ensure cultural and political alignment.
