The Role
The Development team works to secure the philanthropic resources necessary to advance the Foundation’s mission through its programs and operations. The team works closely with volunteers and colleagues from across the organization to present the Foundation’s case for support through gifts, grants, and sponsorships. Team members collaborate to maximize engagement and giving from individual donors and institutional funders alike.
The Manager, Digital Strategy & Grassroots Giving is a key member of the Development team and the department’s digital and direct mail fundraising operation. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Digital Strategy & Grassroots Giving, this individual will implement, maintain, and optimize all areas of a comprehensive and inclusive grassroots giving program. The Manager will work across channels including email, website, SMS, digital advertising, social media, and direct mail to recruit, cultivate, and retain grassroots donors to advance the mission of the Clinton Foundation by generating philanthropic funding for its operations and programs.
This individual will be a skilled project manager, who is experienced in running high-profile digital and direct mail campaigns from conception, to implementation, to analysis. They will be well-versed in digital best practices, and comfortable managing complex projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities
In this role you will work on:
Project & Program Management
- Develops and executes digital and direct mail campaigns and projects that meet or exceed revenue goals and improve the Foundation’s acquisition, engagement, and retention of grassroots donors.
- Prioritizes diverse and inclusive voices, content, and related creative assets across digital and direct mail appeals whenever possible.
- Manages the review and approval process for digital and direct mail assets, working with colleagues across the Foundation to produce deliverables that are of the highest quality and on time.
- Authors, co-authors, and/or edits copy for fundraising, acquisition, engagement, and stewardship purposes.
- Manages select vendor relationships as assigned.
Management of Workflow and Supportive Technologies
- Builds and manages digital fundraising, engagement, and acquisition campaigns, utilizing email, SMS, digital advertising, website, and social media.
- Manages direct mail fundraising and stewardship campaigns in partnership with an outside vendor.
- Builds and manages donation pages, webforms, and other online pages.
- Refines and manages the Quality Assurance process for direct response deliverables.
- Assists in managing the Foundation’s CMS and CRM platforms, as well as other digital tools and platforms as needed.
Analysis and Reporting
- Analyzes and produces regular reports on digital and direct mail performance.
- Provides insights and recommendations on how best to leverage digital and direct mail communications to maximize revenue and improve the long-term donor experience, including researching and testing new platforms, tools, and tactics
- Assists with managing constituent data consistent with proper list hygiene, segmentation, and other best practices.
Other
- Supports other Development team members with projects that contribute to the department’s overall goals and other duties as assigned.
- Partners with colleagues to support the Foundation’s work to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout its work.
- Stays abreast of trends and best practices in direct response marketing and fundraising.
Minimum Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in direct response/grassroots fundraising, including digital required.
- Proven track record working in a fast-paced environment in corporate, non-profit, and/or political fundraising.
- Experience working with high-profile national or international organizations and experience in digital advertising and direct mail is a plus.
- Proven track-record of driving online fundraising objectives.
- Advanced skill and knowledge of key metrics associated with online giving.
- Strong understanding of HTML & CSS
- Demonstrated skill in managing content management systems and fundraising databases
Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $78 - 88K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This range is based on NYC market rates and may be adjusted if you will be working remotely.
