About the Opportunity
Assists the Director of Leadership Development in serving as a Clinton Foundation representative in managing the academic and program operations of the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program. Supports the management of the PLS program, including strategic planning, communications, curriculum development, application and selection, and day-to-day operations; all in accordance with the PLS Memorandum of Understanding between the Clinton Foundation and Bush Institute and in partnership with the other participating Presidential Centers.
Participates with staff from the Clinton Library and the Clinton School of Public Service in the planning and execution of activities and programming that support the CPS’s commitment to cultivating civic health within the community; particularly those relating to cultivating civic leadership.
Participates in leadership development activities at the Little Rock location of the Clinton Foundation including all-staff meetings, meetings of Directors, individual mentoring of managers, and events focused on President Clinton’s leadership, e.g., conferences and guest speakers.
When requested, also assists the overall Clinton Foundation in activities associated with leadership development including, but not limited to staff professional development and projects related to President Clinton’s leadership, e.g., the Miller Center’s Oral History Project.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Work
- Represent the Clinton Foundation’s interest in the Presidential Leadership Scholars program and in partnership with the Bush Center’s program Co-Director oversee the day-to-day operations of the program.
- Collaborate with the Bush Center’s PLS team on developing content and learning experiences within the 6-month PLS program, including module planning, faculty selection, guest speaker selection, program evaluation, application development, and cohort selection.
- Advise PLS program participants and alumni as needed.
- Collaborate with the Bush Center’s PLS team on developing and executing PLS alumni outreach strategies.
- Create and deliver professional development sessions for PLS alumni.
Managerial Work
- Partner with the CPC’s Manager of Educational Programming, staff from the Clinton Library, and staff from the Clinton School of Public Service in developing Clinton Presidential Center leadership and/or civic health activities and programming.
- Assist in the planning and execution of Clinton Presidential Center leadership and/or civic health activities and programming.
Operational/Administrative Work
- Attend select formal and informal meetings of PLS alumni.
- Support the planning and execution of leadership development activities for staff at the Little Rock location of the Clinton Foundation.
- Assist with the planning and development of programming and temporary exhibits related to President Clinton’s leadership, e.g., conferences and guest speakers.
- Support Clinton Foundation activities associated with leadership development.
- There will be other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred in Communication, Organizational Behavior, or Leadership
- Preferred: Doctorate degree in Communication, Organizational Behavior, or Leadership
Work Experience
- At least 11 years of professional experience in the field in positions of increasing responsibility. At least 2-3 of those years must have been directing a team or multiple projects or a function.
- Preferred: Professional experience to include 5-7 years of experience in professional adult education and/or development and at least 2-3 years of significant management experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $120K annually. This role is not eligible for overtime pay. This range is based on Little Rock market rates.
