The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of facilities, equipment, and grounds at the Clinton Presidential Center and One World Campus. This position entails performing routine grounds maintenance, basic facility repairs, preventive maintenance, and supporting work orders. The role requires dependability, a commitment to safety, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work outdoors while performing physical tasks. The Maintenance Technician helps maintain a clean, respectful, and well-kept environment for museum visitors, event guests, students, and staff.
Core Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Proficiency in conducting repairs on various surfaces, including the skilled patching of drywall, precise painting of walls, and other repairs. Execute basic carpentry work with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship.
- Conduct routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, tree trimming, and debris removal, to ensure the tidiness and functionality of outdoor spaces
- Perform comprehensive daily cleanings of building exteriors, walkways, trash bins, and other designated facilities to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for everyone
- Inspect assigned areas, equipment, and work sites to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and equipment issues. Promptly report these findings to a supervisor for further action.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks utilizing basic general maintenance, groundskeeping, and custodial practices
- Oversee the scholar garden working in conjunction with the Master Gardeners.
- Clearly communicate with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and team members about work orders, completed tasks, observed issues, equipment malfunctions, and future maintenance requirements.
- Organize work, manage assigned tasks, respond to changing maintenance priorities, and complete assignments in a timely and professional manner.
- Regularly monitor and assess the inventory levels of all facility supplies, ensuring that there is always an adequate stock available. Communicate any items that require ordering to the manager to ensure readiness for all maintenance tasks
- Ensure tools, supplies, and equipment are clean, charged, fueled, and organized.
- Maintain inspection log for forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
- Assist with minor plumbing, irrigation, and electrical repairs to enhance the overall safety and functionality of the facilities, contributing to a secure and efficient operational environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the facility and the Clinton Foundation.
Minimum Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- YOU MUST HAVE A REAL ID OR US PASSPORT TO BE CONSIDERED.
- High School or GED
- Minimum Required: 3-5 years of previous experience in facility maintenance, ground maintenance, and construction.
- Must be skilled in using hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and general maintenance tools.
- Must know how to operate forklift, boom, and scissor lift
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Some knowledge of AV tech language (help from Electrosonic), phone, and data.
- Ability to work in a varying schedule including nights, early morning, weekends, and holidays.
Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $53K - $56K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This range is based on Little Rock market rates.
