We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head of Data Engineering. In this role, you will lead a team of two engineers, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive our data engineering initiatives. As the Head of Data Engineering, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining data pipelines, managing our data warehouse, and supporting the development of core data models used by reporting analysts.

What You Will Do

  • Designing the Engineering Roadmap for the 2024-2025 years in collaboration with the Head of Analytics
  • Building, monitoring, and supporting data transformation pipelines using our data warehouse (BigQuery) and data modeling tool (DBT).
  • Managing a team of two engineers
  • Design and document core data models used by reporting analysts.
  • Helping to build reporting tables by creating KPI calculations from source data through to consumption in data visualization tools.
  • Working with technical and non technical stakeholders to make data driven decisions.
  • Building and maintaining pipelines between various platforms and BigQuery including Sailthru, Google Analytics, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X

You may be a good fit if you have some of the following:

  • Like working in a startup environment where sometimes priorities change rapidly.
  • Experience Leading a team of brilliant data engineers
  • Compassion when it comes to putting humans first
  • Experience with negating burnout on teams
  • 4+ years of experience in the data field, 2 of them being in data engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of helping engineering teams fix errors on GCP, Cloud Run, Cloud Build.
  • Knowledge of python
  • Experience with working with Wordpress, both wordpress db tables and maintaining wordpress sites themselves.
  • Maining + improve DBT structures
  • Exposure to managing quick SLA’s on data infrastructure
  • Experience with plugins in Wordpress
  • Experience with ESTP integration with list management and its connection to wordpress

Bonus Points if you:

  • Experience building modular and reusable ETL or ELT pipelines to cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Redshift or Snowflake.
  • Have worked with digital media teams
  • Have experience working on the Web development side of the world
  • Past experience with the intricacies of Social Media data
