We are seeking a Retail Media Strategist to support and manage retail media initiatives across a diverse client portfolio, with a focus on regional grocery media networks. Reporting to the AVP, Retail Media, this role is ideal for a candidate with retail media experience who is eager to develop strategic expertise while remaining executionally involved in campaign planning, optimization, and measurement.

The Retail Media Strategist will assist in developing retail media strategies, managing campaign execution, and driving integration into broader shopper marketing and media plans. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and highly collaborative, with strong communication skills and a passion for balancing data-driven performance with strategic innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead holistic grocery retail media strategies, integrating on-site, off-site, and shopper marketing initiatives into broader 360° marketing plans.
  • Act as the agency’s SME in regional grocery media networks, championing the sector’s strategic importance and educating clients and internal teams on its evolving capabilities.
  • Foster relationships with key retail media networks, tech partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution and innovation.
  • Collaborate with other retail media leads to bring cross-retailer insights and planning to clients
  • Unify tracking, reporting, and planning of full-funnel media spend across owned RMN platforms
  • Assist in client presentations and reporting, distilling complex performance data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Shape annual retail media playbooks for key clients, providing guidance on best practices, platform opportunities, and category-specific insights.
  • Collaborate with client partners on annual JBP planning and evaluation, including benefits analysis, cost assessments, and alignment of retail media investments with client growth objectives.
  • Oversee retail media campaign execution, ensuring alignment with client KPIs and maximizing performance across retail platforms.
  • Develop and execute test-and-learn plans to evaluate new platform features, tools, and strategies, ensuring clients remain at the forefront of retail media innovation.
  • Work closely with analytics, programmatic, search, and account teams to ensure seamless execution of integrated retail media campaigns.
  • Facilitate alignment between client sales, retail, and marketing teams on retail media strategies, ensuring consistency and impact across all touchpoints.
  • Help establish and refine processes for campaign planning, execution, and reporting, driving operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed on retail media trends, platform developments, and best practices, sharing insights with internal teams and clients.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in digital advertising or shopper marketing, with at least 2 years focused on retail media.
  • Proven track record managing CPG campaigns and budgets across retail networks.
  • Experience supporting the client JBP process including negotiation, strategic alignment, and tracking results against planned benefits.
  • Adept at building strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of distilling complex strategies into actionable insights for senior executives and diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple campaigns and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
