We are seeking a hands-on, data-driven Commerce Media Manager to lead cross-channel media execution and optimization across search, display, and programmatic. This role is ideal for a strategic yet executionally strong media leader who has direct experience managing self-service retail media platforms across a variety of retailers including Walmart, Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Instacart & Amazon and is comfortable guiding a team while staying actively involved in campaign setup, optimization, and analysis.

As a manager within the media team, this person will oversee a team of 2-3 media specialists, ensuring seamless execution across retail media networks and broader digital channels while driving client success through strategic insights and performance optimizations..

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute hands-on, self-service campaign management across retail media platforms (WMC, RMS, Amazon DSP, Instacart, etc.), ensuring optimal performance across onsite and offsite media
  • Collaborate with Retail Media strategy leads to align client priorities with Media outcomes
  • Track media spending across multiple plans and vendors against pre-approved budgets, stewarding financial success for clients
  • Partner with analytics and data teams to assess campaign performance, leveraging insights for ongoing optimizations and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead troubleshooting and platform-related issue resolution, staying current with platform updates, beta opportunities, and best practices across major retail media networks.
  • Manage and mentor 2-3 direct reports, providing guidance on campaign execution, optimization strategies, and professional development.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and best practices for self-service campaign management, ensuring the team is leveraging automation, bid strategies, and audience targeting effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing, process efficiencies, and innovation.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, translating media performance into actionable business insights that align with client goals.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (strategy, analytics, creative) to ensure seamless execution across channels and optimize media spend holistically.
  • Lead client presentations and performance reviews, providing insights on media mix effectiveness and campaign optimizations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital media, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience managing retail media campaigns
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team (minimum 2-3 direct reports), with a focus on mentorship, workflow optimization, and performance management.
  • Hands-on experience with self-service retail media buying platforms (e.g., Amazon DSP, Walmart Connect, Kroger Precision Marketing).
  • Proven track record of cross-channel media expertise, including search, programmatic, and display.
  • Strong understanding of bid strategies, audience segmentation, and attribution models within retail media networks.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Tableau, or other performance measurement tools to track and report on media performance.
  • Strong ability to translate data insights into strategic recommendations for optimizations and media mix improvements.
  • Strong client communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex media strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and team workflows effectively while maintaining a strategic growth mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field.
  • Certifications in retail media platforms (e.g., Amazon Ads, Walmart DSP, Walmart Connect) are highly preferred.
