Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is seeking an Interim Development Manager who will maintain and oversee key aspects of a successful development operation while the permanent Development Manager is on leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, committed team, work in close partnership with the Founder & CEO, and provide critical day-to-day support to a dynamic, young organization that is mobilizing the American Jewish community to confront the climate crisis with spiritual audacity and bold collective action.

Location: Remote; NYC preferred

Position Type: Full Time for 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with CEO and Major Gifts Consultant to maintain a high-functioning and successful development operation
  • Write and submit timely grant deliverables (proposals and reports; narrative and financial content) for Dayenu’s foundation donors, partnering with Dayenu staff as needed to gather pertinent information.
  • Maintain comprehensive development systems including a constituent relationship management database (CRM); track donor touchpoints and activities; ensure timely donor acknowledgment; additional data entry/administrative support as needed.
  • Lead and collaborate with the Dayenu team on digital fundraising campaigns and development communications.
  • Implement mid-level donor management strategy including donor identification, solicitations, stewardship, and cultivation efforts in partnership with CEO.
  • Provide CEO with meeting, travel, and speaking engagement support as needed, including background research, talking points, and development of collateral.
  • Respond to funding opportunities that arise.

Qualifications:

  • Previous development experience, minimum 3 years, 5+ years preferred
  • Direct experience proactively managing all aspects of development operations including: grant writing; grant tracking and reporting; moves management; donor cultivation and stewardship; funder research; and development communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and good time management
  • Organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and experience working in/with the Jewish community and/or social justice movements preferred
  • Experience and facility with CRMs preferred

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $6,500/month to $8,500/month for six months, commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including vacation and sick days, national and Jewish holidays off, healthcare, a generous office/home office subsidy, and more. This role requires full status to work in the United States and willingness to provide employment verification as required.
