Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action

Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action

Posted on Tuesday, June 6, 2023

For the fourth year in a row, Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is hosting Clergy Student Fellows to build the Jewish climate movement and to provide spiritually meaningful opportunities to Jews in the United States who are wrestling with and wanting to make an impact on the climate crisis.

The 2023-2024 Organizing & Leadership Development Fellowship focuses on growing and nurturing a vibrant network and community of Dayenu Circles. Dayenu Circles are small (and sometimes large!) groups of people working together on climate action from a place of Jewish values and experience. Dayenu Circles are rooted in congregations of various denominations, in college Hillels, in day schools, in neighborhoods, among groups of friends, and within Jewish organizations. As of May 2023, there are 82 active Dayenu Circles and dozens more prospective Dayenu Circles across 27 states. Each week brings more Jewish leaders reaching out to get started.

Position starts September 5, 2023 and ends May 31, 2024 (38 weeks), with a commitment of 8 hours per week on average. Stipend is $10,000, which is $33/hour.

The position is remote, with the option to work at the Dayenu office at 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 1800, New York, New York. This position reports to Dayenu’s National Organizer, who is based in San Francisco. Fellows will receive mentoring, training and supervision from staff at Dayenu as well as support from a fellowship cohort.
