The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic governors, is seeking part time Research Fellows for a three-month fellowship beginning in the fall.
Fellowships will be up to 20 hours a week and pay $24/hour.
The Fellows will assist with media monitoring, long term audio/video projects for the top governor's races in the country, and other as-needed projects.
A comprehensive and organized ongoing review of audio video holds republicans accountable by discovering the strongest and most persuasive clips to drive a successful winning political narrative.
Responsibilities
- Fellows will assist with tracking of political opponents on TV, radio, and social media. Fellows capture and flag TV and radio appearances, key social media, and monitors opponents’ right wing social media accounts.
- Fellows will assist with keeping an up-to-date transcript book of everything the opponents say, aggregating tracking reports, TV transcripts, radio appearances, and social media videos into one place.
- Fellows will assist with assisting the research department with reviewing this transcript doc regularly and creating a library of key audio and visual clips for top targets for use by the digital dept and possible paid media.
- Fellows will assist with backward-looking audio-visual projects as well as daily tracking. On top opponents, Fellows will create a collated archive of all previously available audio and visual footage, add it to the transcript doc, and coordinate its review with other members of the research department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Entry Level
- Strong attention to detail;
- Independent worker who loves organization;
- An understanding of how research fits into the overall campaign/communications picture.

Closing
The DGA offices are based in downtown Washington, DC, although hybrid work may be possible for this position. The DGA will work with potential candidates to schedule remote interviews and process on-boarding procedures remotely, if necessary.
