The Operations Associate is an administrative and programmatic position that reports to the Director of Operations and works the Operations team to help execute the organization’s goals. The Operations Associate assists with building administration tasks, assists with operational projects, oversees processes and systems like the legal, contract, and travel management systems, serves as a liaison with other departments, and otherwise supports the work of the Operations Department. Critical for success is an interest in the mission of the DNC, strong sense of personal initiative, respect for the sensitivity and confidentiality of information, and the ability to balance multiple tasks with enthusiasm and positivity. Additionally, the Operations Associate works closely with the entire Operations Department, Building Facilities group, Accounting and IT Teams.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Serves as a liaison between the Operations Department, staff, and external visitors.
  • Troubleshoots issues that traveling staff encounter and provide last minute assistance as issues arise.
  • Manages COVID protocols for building and events
  • Coordinate with Accounting on expense reporting and direct billing for vendors.
  • Develops and maintains department file management system and building organization
  • Coordinates across the Operations department to ensure that all team projects have support.
  • Assists in vendor management, research, and bill reconciliation.
  • Oversees special projects at the discretion of the COO, Deputy COO, and Director of Operations.
  • Leads Front Desk Operations for the DNC including managing the organization-wide phone system, facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating usage of conference rooms throughout the building
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable working across multiple software platforms
  • Experience with a file management system (preferred)
The starting salary for the Operations Associate position is $51,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which means you will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
