We are looking for a Merchandise Designer to manage the graphic design for the DNC and Biden Victory Fund stores. The ideal candidate has a passion for design and promoting Democratic values. You will work with the DNC merchandise and design teams to create merch that promotes Democratic values, rethinks traditional political merchandising, and raises money for Democrats up and down the ballot.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Execute inspiring, visually engaging digital and print designs;
  • Help maintain the DNC and Biden Victory Fund brand guide;
  • Assist in photography selection and file maintenance for graphics;
  • Manage design partners to ensure brand compliance and deliver high-quality designs;
  • Participate in the Merch and Design Team’s brainstorms and planning meetings;
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience at an in-house creative department or agency.
  • Demonstrable understanding of typography, composition, and color.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to keep iterating until it’s perfect.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Passionate for engaging millions of Americans in advancing the Democratic agenda, strengthening the Democratic Party, and reelecting Joe Biden.
  • Understanding of professional print and web design standards.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

The starting salary for the Graphic Designer (Merchandise) position is $51,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which means you will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek, and has an end date of November 15, 2024. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500. Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role. See 52 U.S.C. 30121; 11 C.F.R. 110.20(i).”
