The Deputy National Training Director will work in collaboration with the National Training Director to build and execute new and existing programming for the National Training Department. The Deputy National Director will work with the National Training Director to manage any Training Managers on staff (hired on a rolling basis) and work with the Director to ensure that all simultaneous programming are meeting strategic goals and department expectations. The Deputy will work with the Director to maintain partner relationships and monitor the success of all training events, virtual and in-person. This individual is an innovator, a collaborator, and extremely detail oriented.
The Deputy National Director is based in Washington, DC and reports to the National Training Director at the Democratic National Committee.

In this position you will:

  • Train Democratic Party leaders, staff, and activists on a variety of campaign tools and strategy.
  • Assist the Director in the development of national training curriculum.
  • Be responsible for managing the Training Managers that will be hired on a rolling basis.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of National and Regional Training summits.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of regional and state-based trainings.
  • Assists in the growth and expansion of existing DNC training programs and other large scale national training programs.
  • Assist in managing logistical elements of training events and programs (both virtual and in-person).
  • Responsible for the management of training databases.
  • Responsible for the management of legacy training programs, T3, T3 v.2, and T2W.
  • Assisting in all other tasks as designated by the National Training Director.

What we will look for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of state party, campaign, or political committee experience.
  • Minimum of at least 1 year of management experience.
  • Must have familiarity with a variety of campaign components including organizing/mobilization, digital media, fundraising, communications, political, data, etc.
  • Must have a strong background in operations, including logistics management, large scale event planning, coordination, and implementation.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, be responsive, and timely.
  • Must be organized and able to multitask.
  • Must have familiarity with Google Suite, NGP, VAN, Zoom, and social networking tools.
  • Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills, and public speaking skills.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be a team player.

What we would be excited to see:

  • A working knowledge of the structure of state parties and political campaigns.
  • Experience training staff and/or volunteers on a state or national level.
  • Design and UX/UI skills.
  • Outgoing, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • The ability to think outside the box and is very solutions oriented.
This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends and extensive travel during some parts of the year. The starting salary for the position is $95,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Deputy National Training Director position will require travel, which could be up to 15-30% of the time.
