The Operations Manager is a programmatic position that reports to the Director of Operations and works on the Operations team to help execute the organization’s goals. The Operations Manager leads operational projects, oversees processes and systems related to the legal, contract, state operations, events and travel management systems, and otherwise supports the work of the Operations Department with a strong emphasis on the travel and events portfolios. Critical for success is an interest in the mission of the DNC, strong sense of personal initiative, respect for the sensitivity and confidentiality of information, and the ability to balance multiple tasks. Additionally, the Operations Manager works closely with the entire Operations (including Human Resources), Political/States, Building Facilities, Accounting, and IT Teams.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, technology integration, and innovation to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the operations team’s workstreams.
- Assist with hands-on, in-person operations support to ensure the daily building operations run smoothly and the organization as a whole has what it needs to succeed
- Coordinate logistical components of DNC hosted events, from pre-event planning to on the ground execution including room setup, coordination of technological components (e.g., A/V, conferencing tools), on-site support during events, and post-event breakdown.
- Assists in the following team responsibilities: vendor management, research, and bill reconciliation; coordinating travel and supporting staff with travel needs for large events; DNC insurance renewal and ongoing insurance needs; and DNC contracting process.
- Coordinates across the Operations department to ensure that all team projects have support
- Leads Front Desk Operations for the DNC including managing the organization-wide phone system, facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating usage of conference rooms throughout the building
- Oversees special projects at the discretion of the COO, Deputy COO and Director of Operations and performs other duties as assigned.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Operates as a team player with the mindset that it is important to offer help to team members on pressing priority projects.
- Flexibility and recognition that winning campaigns often means working outside of traditional office hours.
- Works well under pressure.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or 4 years experience in an office environment
- 1-3 years of experience in operations, administration, project management, or a related role; political or nonprofit experience preferred.
- Experience providing hands-on operational support (event execution, meeting setup, etc.)
- Comfortable working across multiple software platforms
- Based in or willing to move to Washington, DC
The starting salary for the Operations Manager position is $65,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
