Job Description

The Democratic Party of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic

Deputy Finance Director to assist with fundraising efforts in 2024 and beyond. Key

responsibilities include planning and executing fundraising events, written and oral

correspondence with donors, identifying new income sources, managing intern and principal call

time, and working across departments to design and promote events. Ideal candidates will

possess strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills, and political fundraising

experience.

This position will report to the Finance Director and is based in Richmond, Virginia.

Responsibilities:

● Develop, plan, and implement fundraising events;

● Consistently achieve and exceed fundraising goals through donor outreach;

● Collaborate across DPVA departments to ensure successful promotion of events;

● Cultivate friendly rapport with current and potential donors;

● Maintain meticulous records of contacts, donations, and event plans;

● Manage Finance Team interns;

● Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

● Minimum 2 years experience in grassroots fundraising and using social media in politics;

● Experience managing a successful email program for a candidate or political organization

including writing and sending fundraising emails;

● Excellent persuasive and engaging writing ability that can be demonstrated in long-form

emails in different voices and translated into copy that’s under 140 characters;

● Experience with mass email software;

○ NGP, Act Blue, NationBuilder, etc.

● Proficient with graphic design software (eg. Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).

Salary & Benefits:

● Salary is $45,000-$65,000 annually and commensurate with experience;

● Unlimited PTO as approved by the supervisor;
