Deputy Training Director

Job Description

The Democratic Party of Virginia is seeking a Deputy Training Director to expand our training

program throughout the 2024 election cycle and beyond.

This position will report to the Training Director and is based in Richmond, Virginia. To apply,

Responsibilities:

● Assist the Training Director with developing and executing a training curriculum for

Democratic Party leaders, staff, and activists on a variety of campaign tools and strategy

● Working with local leaders to plan and execute regional trainings;

● Managing logistical elements of training events and programs (both virtual and

in-person);

● Creating & updating presentations, materials, and training collateral

● Presenting to groups ranging from 10-200 people

● Some in-state travel required, no more than 20%

● Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

● At least 1 cycle of electoral or issue-based campaign work or legislative equivalent

required, 2-3 cycles preferred;

● Strong written communication, especially written documentation & instructional guides;

● Experience with coaching & training others, whether volunteer or professional

● Comfort with public speaking;

● Reliable access to a car

● Comfort with Google Suite products – Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides;

● Passion for electing Democrats at every level - from School Board to President;

● Preference will be given to applicants with experience working in Virginia politics.

Salary & Benefits:

● Salary is $45,000 - $65,000 annually and commensurate with experience;

● Unlimited PTO as approved by the supervisor;

● Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance with 100% Premiums Employer-paid;

● 401(k) and 4% Deferral Match available after one year of continuous employment;

● This is a bargaining unit position.
