Job Title : Political Intern Reports to : Deputy Political Director

During the 2023-24 cycle, WisDems will drive massive programs to defend the Democratic majority in the United States Senate by re-electing Senator Tammy Baldwin, to re-elect President Biden for a second term, elect progressive candidates up and down the ballot, and work to build volunteer-led coalitions for the long term. WisDems’ work is grounded in inclusion, respect, and empowerment across race, gender, other dimensions of identity, and the rural/suburban/urban divide. The Opportunity: As a Political Intern, you will serve as a point of contact and provide customer service for party leaders and those wishing to contact WisDems by assisting in the management of our phone line and internal ticketing system. You will also have the opportunity to work with our Candidate Services and Coalitions teams by assisting with tasks across those teams.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in staffing a live help desk on the phone for our County Officers to ensure their questions and requests are answered in a timely manner, and be a point of contact for all other incoming calls and monitoring the voicemail inbox . Assist with the organization’s internal ticketing system in order to centralize responses to specific requests to ensure faster response rates to our subunit members. Assist with data entry to ensure our membership data is accurate and up to date.
Assist with upkeep of the department’s community events calendar. Assist with weekly department newsletters, such as our coalitions newsletter. Work with our Candidate Services, Coalitions, and Party Affairs teams to fulfill additional tasks as needed.
On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary. Qualifications (Required): Growth Mindset
