The Opportunity: As a Coordinated Deputy Press Secretary, you will support the Biden-Harris Wisconsin communications team’s earned media strategy, including drafting press releases, statements, pitches, press materials, and advisories; prepping storytellers for interviews; drafting talking points and remarks for press events; staffing press events; encouraging press attendance at events; and organizing press and statement lists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Draft and manage the approval process for communications materials such as press releases, statements, pitches, fact sheets, advisories, background materials, talking points, and other items as needed
  • Work with storytellers and electeds to prepare for interviews and press events
  • Support the organization and execution of press events, including pitch calls and event set up/take down
  • Support the communications team’s organization, which includes keeping press, story, and statement lists updated
  • Monitor and track breaking news and noteworthy developments in the presidential campaign or in Wisconsin politics
  • On-year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election preparation as necessary

  • Clear, Precise, and Inclusive Communication – Proven track record of producing quality written communications while being keenly aware of addressing diverse audiences
  • Effective Team Player – Ability to collaborate with colleagues to produce quality communications materials
  • At least one year of communications, research, or political experience
