DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.

Since 2000, more than 5 million people and partners have contributed $1 billion to support 2 million teacher requests for classroom resources and experiences. Projects range from art supplies to build the set for a school musical, to books and puzzles that affirm students’ identities, to bird seed for an at-home science project. We proudly serve all US public schools, public charter schools, and Head Start centers, and we combat systemic inequity by driving a majority of donations to schools that have been historically underfunded due to economic and racial inequity.

DonorsChoose has been recognized as a best place to work by GOOD Magazine and the Nonprofit Times, while Fast Company named DonorsChoose one of the 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World—the first time a charity has made this list. Our dedicated team works from across the United States to bring classroom dreams to life.

About the Revenue Operations Team

Our managed giving teams aim to raise $75M for public school classrooms through creative, collaborative partnerships with corporations, foundations, and individual philanthropists this school year. The Revenue Operations (RevOps) Team provides operational support for our partnerships and internal campaigns with a seamless experience for our internal and external stakeholders. Our systems support in helping us achieve our acquisition, relationship, renewal, and execute objectives for our formal partnerships. This role sits on the Prospect Development subteam and is supervised by the Senior Manager, Prospect Development.

About the Role

This role will execute deliverable-based prospect research and outreach work for our managed giving pipeline. This is a part-time, six-month temporary position with the potential to become permanent, depending on performance and the needs of the organization.

  • This role requires an estimated 20-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
  • Ideally, this person will work some of our org-wide collaboration hours between noon and 5pm ET M-F.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the Partnership Center inquiry inbox for corporate and foundation prospects, and respond to inquiries within 1 business day
  • Research prospective organizations and individuals, evaluate giving potential and alignment with our mission, and compile your findings in research briefs
  • Support outreach efforts to educate prospects about our work and qualify their viability as a potential funder:
    • For corporate and foundation prospects, this role will execute prospect-facing outreach through email
    • For major donor prospects, this role will coordinate resources and email templates to support Major Gift Officers in their cultivation and outreach of prospects
  • Share identified prospects with internal colleagues and coordinate network introductions, including drafting email outreach and supporting follow-up
  • Create, update, and maintain lead and organization records on Salesforce to help track lead research and qualification efforts.
  • Secure and schedule first calls between corporate and foundation prospects and Business Development pitchers to formally transition and convert the prospect to a new team
  • Execute prospect research projects as assigned by the Senior Manager, Prospect Development

This role may be perfect for you if:

  • You’re seeking a flexible, part-time role where you can make a meaningful impact.
  • You’re passionate about supporting public school teachers and students, and enjoy engaging with others to share this mission.

  • You love diving into research projects, evaluating potential prospects, and synthesizing key insights into actionable briefs that help inform outreach strategy.
  • You communicate clearly and consistently, whether sharing research findings, drafting outreach emails, or coordinating with internal teams. You know when to ask for help and when to independently dig deeper.
  • You’re organized and efficient, managing your time effectively to respond to inquiries, complete research tasks, and keep outreach efforts on track.
