Education Analytics is hiring for a Technical Project Manager. This role is fully remote.

Position Description
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) will be expected to consistently provide high quality and innovative work to Education Analytics. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of partner-focused and internal technical initiatives across Education Analytics (EA). This role ensures the successful implementation of complex product-based services and data solutions by aligning delivery timelines, technical dependencies, and team capacity. Working at the intersection of services, engineering, product, and data science, the TPM is responsible for scoping technical workstreams, tracking progress, managing risks, and ensuring delivery quality.
The ideal candidate brings strong project management capabilities with an emphasis on technical systems and product and service execution, as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills.

- This is a full-time, salaried exempt position with the expectation that specific periods of work around project deadlines or peak loads during the year may require additional time commitment to support completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Lead cross-functional planning and execution of partner-facing and internal technical projects
- Translate contracts and strategic goals into actionable workstreams, timelines, and resource plans
- Drive alignment across data science, engineering, and product teams for timely and accurate delivery
- Maintain and update project roadmaps and backlog priorities in coordination with delivery, technical, and product leads
- Track project status in Jira, manage dependencies, and document risks and blockers
- Coordinate and facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups when needed
Technical Scoping & Feasibility
- Collaborating with product managers and technical leads to evaluate feasibility and scope requirements
- Support pre-project estimation and decision-making by surfacing risks and constraints
- Troubleshoot blockers in collaboration with engineering and implementation teams
- Serve as a consultative partner for solutioning—supporting the “how” behind what gets built or delivered
Cross-Team Collaboration & Coordination
- Ensure shared understanding of timelines, goals, and technical dependencies across teams
- Facilitate kickoff and handoff meetings with delivery leads, analysts, engineers, researchers, and product managers
- Manage partner communications around technical milestones and progress
- Act as liaison between delivery and other functional teams to ensure roadmap alignment
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Manage services delivery budgets, ensuring projects stay within financial parameters
- Monitor resource allocation, adjusting as needed to meet partner needs efficiently
- Oversee and approve invoices and contract renewals, ensuring proper documentation of service engagements
- Support business development by identifying opportunities for service expansion or optimization
Process & Best Practice Development
- Establish services delivery best practices and frameworks to improve consistency and scalability
- Work with leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for service effectiveness
- Lead service innovation initiatives, identifying ways to improve how EA delivers partner-specific services
Documentation, Systems, & QA
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including scoping specs, timelines, and decision logs
- Ensure that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated
- Collaborate on test plans and QA processes for partner deliverables
- Ensure project handoff documentation is ready for downstream support teams
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong experience managing partner-specific service engagements, ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
- Demonstrated success managing technical and data product projects.
- Strong organizational and planning skills; comfort with managing competing priorities.
- Experience collaborating with product managers, engineers, and data science teams.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of Agile project management and tools (Jira, Confluence, Monday.com).
- Comfort reviewing data specs, schema diagrams, and product workflows.
- Familiarity with concepts like data pipelines, APIs, dashboards, and cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, utilizing proper grammar, syntax, and excellent business acumen.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a high paced environment with limited direction.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (or list other software or similar skills).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business, public policy, economics, or a related field.
- 5–7 years' experience in project or program management, preferably in tech, edtech, or data services
- Experience leading cross-functional teams or managing multi-workstream initiatives
- Experience in education, public sector, or mission-aligned orgs is a plus
Work Environment and Requirements
- Require minimal day-to-day management.
- An ability to communicate effectively in numerous conversations throughout the day on the telephone, in writing, on-line zoom and in person to provide information, collaboration and assistance.
- Ability to reach in all directions to store and retrieve files, use telephone, calculator, computer, and other office equipment.
- An ability to move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, retrieve office supplies and make general deliveries.
- Dexterity and hand/eye coordination necessary to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- Ability to complete job duties where there may be eyestrain due to constant viewing of computer screens.
- Ability to complete job duties in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are consistent.
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, follow instructions, and be able to comprehend written material or requests.
- Must demonstrate the ability to use reason and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for the Technical Project Manager position is $86,000-$100,000/year, based on experience. EA also has a generous benefits package including:
- A 12% employee salary contribution from EA to your 401k retirement plan
- An additional 3% salary deferral match by EA to your 401k
- 26.5 days of paid vacation annually + sick paid time off that accumulates per pay period
