ABOUT EVERYBODY VOTES CAMPAIGN

Everybody Votes Campaign (EVC) is a national organization hiring staff for a large-scale coordinated civic engagement campaign active through the 2024 election cycle. The campaign aims to create a more representative democracy by registering millions of underrepresented voters across the country. This effort focuses on voter registration in a targeted fashion by conducting at-scale, effective, efficient, metrics-driven registration work. Through this work, we seek to fundamentally change the make-up of the electorate and to increase the political power of traditionally underrepresented communities in our democracy.


We directly fund organizations who execute voter registration and run quality control operations. We are dedicated to being active participants with the organizations to ensure their programs are effective and promote an investment in the future of emerging communities.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The campaign seeks an experienced field or engagement staffer to work under the Senior Program Director by serving as the Program Director. Program Directors are expected to advise on organizational strategies and efforts for one or more state programs; directly manage 3-4 Program Managers and/or Program Coordinators; develop processes to operationalize initiatives and enable Program staff to do their jobs effectively; assist the Senior Program Director with budget and administrative functions; and assist with managing and troubleshooting partner programs. The Program Director must be able to help develop programmatic infrastructure to achieve large people of color registration goals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a hard worker who always works to get the job done, able to manage up and down, and a nice person that people want to be around.


WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE

Co lead and operationalize Program Initiatives including but not limited to

  • Management of Program Consultants

  • Advising Senior Program Director on program initiatives, tactics and strategies

  • Identify and implement process improvements across program team landscape

  • Lead infrastructure developments focused on program agility

  • Own program team compliance with grant management system


Lead strategic planning and compliance around Request for Proposals and joint effort agreement process

  • Manage request for proposal approvals in partnership with Program Team Managers

  • Guide and support plan development with Program Managers

  • Ensure request for proposal and joint effort agreement process is compliant with EVC standards

  • Create and drive timeline and deliverables for stakeholders


Foster interdepartmental communication surrounding but not limited to

  • Program initiatives

  • Quality control

  • Budget and invoice management

Co-Lead, develop, and support program team staff through

  • Performance feedback, goal maintenance and priority setting

  • Acting as a thought partner to program team on stakeholder relationship management

  • Support Program Managers in registration program development initiatives

  • Lead remote and site-based VR comms for program manager regions / states

  • Edits documents and resources for PMs of region/state(s)

  • Partner with Program Managers to accelerate field goal completion

  • Identifying emerging opportunities for additional partnerships to improve program

  • Support continuation of productive relationships with tables and partners

  • Backstop important conversations with partners and tables, as necessary

Manage Program Team budget, cashflow, and projections

  • Assist with multi-million dollar budget making for state table/s and partner/s

  • Ensure that states and their Program Managers’ have site-based VR plans and budgets

  • Review and provide approval recommendations for table and partner budgets and ensure that they are within approved annual budgets

  • Work with Senior Program Director to approve budgets for site-based voter registration


This is a great opportunity for someone who:

  • Has experience with field programs, direct voter contact programs or voter registration programs

  • Has expertise in strategically setting field goals and implementing tactics to achieve those goals

  • Has experience managing budgets and/or managing grants

  • Has fluency in Microsoft Excel and Google sheets, especially to track metrics

  • Has past success as a manager of people and programs

  • Has excellent analytical, mathematical, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Is committed to the idea of changing the nature of the electorate

  • Is committed to voter registration as a key component for making progressive policy change

  • Is committed to promoting practices that encourage empowerment for traditionally marginalized individuals and communities

  • Brings civic engagement experience working for or with groups that serve communities of color


REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE

  • Able to manage a high volume of work with efficiency while still paying close attention to detail

  • Experience with Voter Registration: Track record of successfully managing multiple direct civic engagement campaigns, especially field campaigns, of over $1M

  • High level of proficiency with Excel Spreadsheet able to create interconnected budgeting spreadsheets and find and correct errors quickly and with a high level of accuracy

  • Knowledge and familiarity with REI principles: Recognizes ways that race and other identities intersect in the work, especially with communities we serve. Comfortable talking about identities such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, or gender in plain, specific terms. Understands the historical context for racial inequity and its present-day implications.

  • Adept at vision and strategic goal-setting: Quickly grasps the subtleties of complex issues and identifies patterns in challenges. Adapts to the evolving needs of the organization and thinks 3 (or 30) steps ahead to develop solutions that achieve goals in their realm.

  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful: Able to manage a high volume of work with efficiency while still paying close attention to detail

  • Empathetic leadership and enthusiasm for meeting and engaging with people. Proven track record of effectively managing a racially diverse team to achieve ambitious goals.

  • Models and inspires accountability: Inspires and motivates others to take action and meet goals. Ability to delegate skillfully and hold teams accountable

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Knowledge of program management tools like Monday.com, or Asana


Helpful but not required:

  • Experience working with leading tools in the progressive data space, such as VAN to target and implement successful civic engagement programs

  • Bi lingual (spanish/english)

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools

Salary Range: $117,000 - $141,500
