The Everybody Votes Campaign, established in 2015, is a national coordinating body focused on narrowing the voter registration gap in communities of color. We are committed to creating a more representative democracy by building and supporting large scale, long term voter registration in communities of color. We partner with local organizations to support accessible, successful, and high quality voter registration programs that expand access to our democracy for people in communities of color.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
EVC seeks a Product Manager to oversee the product planning and development of software to
maximize civic engagements in communities of color. This role is ideal for someone with a
strong handle on the ins and outs of product development and excellent communication skills
with a variety of partners and communities, including technical and non-technical individuals.
Experience working in data and technology with groups that connect with traditionally
underrepresented communities is highly valued, and a premium is placed on a practical problem
solving approach that prioritizes minimum viable solutions on tight timelines. The Product
Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Technology and Quality Control.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE
Identifying opportunities for product improvement
- Gather feedback from users (user interviews, demos, group debriefs); synthesize and translate into future development options to increase user satisfaction and product effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with leadership, field staff, and technology vendors to identify and document requirements
Maintaining development sprints and documentation
- Maintaining backlog, feature request and bug documentation in alignment with development priorities
- Coordinate all aspects of technical releases; collaborate with program staff and trainers to ensure all components are in place to support adoption e.g. training, documentation)
Testing
- Test, provide feedback on, and approve or reject of new features and fixes prior prior to release, confirming that new features meet criteria
- Develop and document internal best-practices and decisions made on product development
General tool support
- Train state level administrators (super users) in administrative best practices, and manage some aspects of national administration
- Work closely with the field team to establish and manage effective systems to track and evaluate program progress to goal for the organization, staff, and partners
- As needed, support with tools training, site visits, and book closing

Requirements for this Role:
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products - managing timelines, compiling requirements, and regularly assessing progress to goals
- Strong skills and experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences, both in writing and verbally
- Experience working in an environment with multiple stakeholder relationships, as a member of a diverse, multidisciplinary team
- Experience managing vendor relationships, from sourcing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract development, and facilitating regular check-ins
- 20% Travel Required: The role involves extensive travel, comprising 20% of the working time, to attend all staff events, etc. as needed.
Helpful but not required:
- Previous experience working in the fields of progressive organizing, civic engagement, or voting rights
- Previous experience canvassing or with field management
- Knowledge of SQL and management of relational SQL databases (Vertica,
- Redshift, PostgreSQL, etc)
- Previous experience using progressive data platforms (such as Civis Platform)
- Previous experience working with Politech, Catalist, VAN, or other individual-level data used to target and implement civic engagement programs.
With consideration for the fact that workloads evolve over time and that not all work related to this role is foreseeable, this role is responsible for other duties as assigned.
Performance Metrics & Review Schedule
Your first review will be 90 days after your start date, then a six-month check-in and a
development review annually for the duration of your employment. If the results of a
reviews are unsatisfactory, more frequent reviews may be scheduled to monitor improvements. If assigned improvement goals are not reached, a warning schedule may be implemented including the possibility of termination.

All employees must be eligible to work lawfully within the United States upon the commencement of employment. The organization does not sponsor visa applications for prospective or current staff.
This position is in a bargaining unit represented by the Washington Baltimore News Guild CWA.
VACCINE REQUIREMENT

Salary Range: 88,000-102,500
