Position Summary

The HR Assistant provides day-to-day administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, helping ensure a well-organized and positive employee experience. This role supports HR processes, maintains accurate HRIS data and personnel records, responds to employee inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality, and collaborates with the HR team to support inclusive and effective people operations.

The hourly rate for this full-time hybrid position is $27.18-$29.23 per hour. Offers are determined based on the relevant skills and experience required for the position.

Essential Functions:

HR Operations & Administrative Support:

  • Provide HR related administrative support to the COO, including scheduling and meeting coordination, document preparation, and expense reporting.
  • Assist with HR calendaring, drafting process documentation, and supporting workflow improvements.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives by supporting preparation, documentation, and coordination needs.
  • Maintain, organize, and update the HR SharePoint drive, ensuring proper version control, confidentiality, and ease of access for authorized users.

HRIS & Records Management Support:

  • Support the HR team in processing employee changes including status, compensation, address, and manager updates
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and well-organized employee files and records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Generate standard HR reports (e.g., anniversaries, headcount summaries) as requested.
  • Assist with benefits and compensation administration through data entry, reporting, and employee support.

Employee Support & Communications:

  • Serve as a point of contact for general HR questions, providing timely, accurate, and supportive responses.
  • Assist with coordinating HR-related announcements, reminders, and internal communications.
  • Support coordination for HR events, processes, and activities.

Recruitment & Hiring Support:

  • Post job openings and ensure accurate and consistent external and internal listings.
  • Provide logistical support to the HR team and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, administration, or related work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience coordinating schedules and managing calendars
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with modern HR tools and systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain follow-through in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to travel to the DC office a minimum of 2 days per month

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with HRIS or ATS systems (e.g., BambooHR).
  • Basic understanding of basic HR compliance practices or experience supporting HR processes.
  • Strong customer service background with an interest in employee experience.
