FWD.us is seeking a talented individual for a paid, full-time Government Relations and Data Anlaysis Intern supporting our immigration campaigns. This is an opportunity to learn how a dynamic political research team operates in a fast-paced environment while supporting our longer-term efforts to protect immigrant communities and strengthen our immigration system. In this role, you will help power the team that is responsible for keeping the organization on the pulse of the national landscape on immigration.

Applicants should have strong data analysis and writing skills and availability to work full-time on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM ET for a 4-6 month period, beginning in January 2025 through May 2025. This position will be expected to work on-site in the Washington, DC office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays. Interns are paid $20/hr and expected to work 40 hours per week, plus benefits.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist our government relations team with ongoing projects that leads Congress towards pro-immigration legislation.
  • Support immigration campaigns, including events, for our government relations team.
  • Assist with data analysis and research on state and federal issues affecting immigrant populations.
  • Maintain research databases & systems.
  • Conduct other research duties & special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Dedication to the mission of FWD.us and sensitivity to issues of migration and criminalization of disenfranchised people.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills, with the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines.
  • Strong data analysis abilities; including proficiency in Excel
  • Organizational skills leading to effective preparation of event logistics.
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
