Enterprise Architect/Salesforce Architect

Are you interested in combining your deep technical expertise with your commitment to nonprofit and higher education institutions? Heller Consulting is looking for an Enterprise Architect to support our strategy services and our Salesforce implementation teams.

Within Heller’s Strategy Practice, this role would support our nonprofit and higher education clients by considering their overall technology stack with an eye toward enhancing how our clients can better achieve their mission and fundraising goals. The consultant will work with clients to assess their current systems, and develop future facing enterprise architecture, and data architecture roadmaps, lead product-agnostic technology selections, and to develop strategies, and principles that are in alignment with business strategies and objectives.

Within Heller’s Salesforce Practice, this role would support implementation activities by guiding the overall architecture and design of the Salesforce ecosystem. Through development of integration recommendations and data archiving or warehouse strategies, the data architecture would be optimized for reporting and analysis, would minimize technical debt, and would scale to accommodate Large Data Volumes (LDV). This work may include recommending and implementing the best approach to accomplish the design, such as using middleware solutions and/or SOAP and REST APIs for integration, or Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC) for customizations on the Salesforce platform.

Responsibilities

Consulting Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to clients and Salesforce implementation consultants on architecture design or improvement, considering performance and impact of changes.
• Identify problems and issues affecting multiple areas and facilitate their resolution.
• Effectively anticipate and evaluate problems and solutions that affect multiple areas of the organization.
• Consistently suggest alternative approaches or points of view.
• Participate in determining goals and objectives for projects.
• Foster the development of a common vision, providing clear direction of roles, responsibilities, and priorities.
• Confidently and compassionately approach difficult issues, standing firm when necessary and focusing on the betterment of the organization, department, or process.
• Describe and document the client’s requirements.
• Define the business case for investments in IT or infrastructure.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and provide guidance on data processes and architecture for clients using or implementing cloud-based platforms.
• Provide clients high-level written and verbal explanations of organizational, business, and technical environments in relation to enterprise technologies.
• Review client’s architecture strategy to ensure the ecosystem can be readily maintained to support the business requirements, and is reliable, scalable, and provides optimal performance.
• Lead governance efforts and architecture reviews and provide strategic perspective and alignment.
• Conduct investigation activity/research and give technical advice on the adoption or integration of new technologies and their business impact.

Technical Responsibilities

• Learn and research advanced technologies and concepts.
• Produce and maintain highly detailed technical documents, customized for each client.
• Aware of industry-standard processes.
• Identify opportunities to leverage/reuse solutions for multiple customers.
• Create architecture design diagrams and develop recommendations for integrations between systems, data archiving or warehouse strategies, and optimization for reporting and analysis.
• Evaluate and recommend architecture changes based on technology and business trends while maintaining standards and best practices in design.
• Provide deep data integration and/or migration experience with Salesforce.com and other cloud-enabled tools
  • Appropriately use Salesforce-based programming languages and frameworks such as Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and potentially other adjacent programming languages.

Requirements and Qualifications

Requirements

• 10+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional areas, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Deep data integration and/or migration experience with Salesforce.com and other cloud-enabled tools.
• Experience using Salesforce-based programming languages and frameworks such as Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and potentially other adjacent programming languages.
• Experience with master data management, data governance, data security, data quality and related tools.
• Experience with full-fledged data warehouse or data mart models.
• Experience with data modeling, data integration, and reporting.
• Experience with reporting / BI tools.
• Experience designing and implementing Salesforce.com (SFDC) solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in consulting.
• Experience with nonprofits or higher education organizations.
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or advanced degree.
• Experience in a variety of IT roles including technical, application development, business systems, and/or data management.
• Maintains Salesforce.com certifications
