About the Role:
The Director of Data Platform Implementation & Operations will lead the strategic planning, deployment, and ongoing management of enterprise-wide data platforms to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational needs. This role is pivotal in ensuring that data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals, enabling data-driven decision-making across departments. The director will oversee cross-functional teams responsible for platform architecture, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions while driving innovation in data platform technologies. Ultimately, this position ensures that the data platform environment is robust, compliant, and continuously evolving to meet future business challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data platform management, implementation, or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards such as GDPR or CCPA.
- Background in agile methodologies and DevOps practices for data platform delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of data platform projects, including planning, design, deployment, and integration with existing systems.
- Manage daily operations of data platforms to ensure reliability, performance, and security standards are met or exceeded.
- Develop and enforce best practices, policies, and procedures for data platform management and governance.
- Collaborate with business leaders, data scientists, and IT teams to align platform capabilities with organizational data strategy and analytics needs.
- Oversee vendor relationships and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance platform functionality and efficiency.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data engineers, platform architects, and operations specialists.
- Monitor platform metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security protocols across all data platform activities.

Location: Remote
Pay Range expected for position: $170,000-$180,000 annually.
