Reports to: Engagement Assistant
Location: Multiple, including DC and New York and remote
Fellowship duration: Flexible
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
The Position
J Street is seeking undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates as Fellows for the Summer of 2023. There are opportunities in multiple locations as well as remote. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity to better understand and get involved in J Street’s work.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn outreach, research and events skills as well as to deepen one’s knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This position is ideal for applicants interested in non-profit work or political advocacy.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Assisting with outreach, and logistics for advocacy events
- Updating and managing supporter databases
- Researching potential new donors and supporters
- Making phone calls / writing emails to supporters
- Assisting with outreach to potential new activists
- Other tasks as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Careful attention to detail
- Alignment with J Street’s mission
- Comfortable making phone calls
- Proficiency with Google Applications and Microsoft Excel; experience with database management a plus

The organization believes that preserving Israel’s Jewish and democratic character depends on achieving a two-state solution, resulting in a Palestinian state living alongside Israel in peace and security.
J Street focuses its work in three main areas: (1) Advocating and demonstrating support for pro-Israel, pro-peace policies in Congress, the media and the Jewish community; (2) Endorsing and raising money for federal candidates who share J Street’s agenda; and (3)
Educating the public and raising awareness of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the two-state solution.
Compensation and Time Commitment
This part-time fellowship pays $16/hr. Fellows can expect to work 10-15 hours per week. Applicants are considered on a rolling basis. Please indicate in your cover letter which days and how many hours you are available.
