POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Systems Manager is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive security strategies and systems to protect the organization's staff, members, resources, and information. This role involves a combination of strategic planning, with a strong emphasis on risk management, thorough report generation, proactive assurance measures for risk mitigation, and the management and operationalization of security department infrastructure. The role also includes operational support and administrative duties, with a focus on enhancing security protocols and capacity building.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Security Strategy and Risk Intelligence

  • Prioritize risk management activities, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential security risks across the organization.
  • Track staff/member engagement with security initiatives and policies.
  • Document security policies and procedures, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with risk management objectives.
  • Track the implementation of security measures and protocols across the organization.
  • Support security-related project management activities, with a focus on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Document security protocols and track member engagement in security programs.

Executive Protection

  • Provide support for executive protection operations, as needed.

Crisis Management

  • Provide support during crisis situations, adhering to established protocols and risk management frameworks.
  • Document crisis management processes and track their implementation.

Physical Security

  • Coordinate on-the-ground logistics for physical security operations, ensuring alignment with risk management plans and efficient use of infrastructure.
  • Manage safety and security contractors and teams, including scheduling, performance oversight, and ensuring adherence to security protocols and risk mitigation strategies.

Information Security

  • Support information security migration projects, ensuring security best practices are followed, and risks are adequately addressed, with a focus on maintaining secure infrastructure.
  • Document information security protocols and maintain accurate records.

Administrative

  • Manage, track, and generate regular security reports for management review, including detailed risk assessments, mitigation efforts, and the status of security infrastructure.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with security vendors and service providers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, alignment with risk management goals, and optimal performance of security infrastructure.
  • Manage logistics for department travel, including accommodations and itineraries.
  • Track fund distributions related to security projects and initiatives.
  • Finalize and post security policy and process documentation in the organization's knowledge base (e.g., Guru).

Capacity Building

  • Develop and facilitate systems and operations training for staff and members to enhance security awareness and skills, with a focus on risk mitigation and the effective use of security infrastructure.
  • Support the mapping of members, partners, and resources relevant to security initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in organizing, community safety, and project management
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Relevant safety and security experience
  • Experience providing powerful leadership and managing a team with humility, clarity, and integrity; conducts all aspects of their work with accountability, trust, and respect
  • Demonstrated success advocating for new and creative ideas, methods and approaches; integrating best practices
  • Experience in digital or information security education curriculum development and implementation, particularly in teaching new skills or tools and maintaining knowledge after a training, course, and/or workshop.
  • Experience and familiarity with Information Security technologies and concepts including but not limited to strong authentication, network security, endpoint security, vulnerability management, information assurance, security operations, mobile security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience and familiarity with creating and/or designing engaging and easily digestible presentations, newsletters, fact sheets, and similar materials.
  • Experience with information security training vendors
  • Must be able to complete a favorable background check
