Work Location: Remote, willing to work Eastern Standard time.

Start Date: ASAP

Your main roles are enhancing the effectiveness of our digital output for our statewide and federal campaigns and deepening our relationships with nannies, housecleaners and home care workers online to move them towards engaging with us in deeper ways.

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help develop and execute National Domestic Workers Alliance ’ digital organizing strategy with the Digital Director and Campaigns team to build and engage our list.

  • Support NDWA’s state-based campaigns by developing and executing digital strategy, content strategy, and toolkits for various campaigns, projects, and pushes at one time.

  • Produce compelling, persuasive audio-visual, written content, and scripts that moves people to action on a range of issues through email (via EveryAction), P2P (via GetThru or Mobile Commons ), SMS (via EveryAction), and social media. This will include setting up emails, donation forms, advocacy alerts, surveys, and other forms in EveryAction.

  • Deepen domestic workers’ sense of identity with NDWA by managing our online community. IE) Responding to all comments and DMs across our social and email channels..

  • Manage and moderate 2 Facebook groups (or a similar online space) with the help of others on the campaigns and organizing teams:

  • Work with our ads manager in formulating digital ad campaigns to generate leads for organizers and move audiences to action.

  • Work with our social media graphic and video team to create engaging audio-visual assets.

  • Provide the team and our partners with regular updates and reports of what’s working, areas for improvement, and new opportunities.

  • Use data and experimentation to inform digital organizing strategy and tactics.

  • Work with our social media manager in setting up a social listening program to keep on top of social media trends and deepen understanding of target audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A track record of producing high-quality audiovisual content on a range of issues that has helped an organization move people to action.

  • At least 2 years in online organizing for political campaigns and digital strategy for issue-based, advocacy, or political campaigns.

  • Demonstrated passion for and understanding of progressive politics, social justice, racial justice, and disability justice.

  • Vision for how digital tools can help build and engage a base of low-wage workers. Awareness of the limitations in technology access in low-wage worker communities, and creativity for navigating and overcoming these limitations.

  • Shares our commitment breaking down all systems of oppression

  • Excellent writing and communication skills with experience in creative, compelling prose that can move people to take action with meticulous attention to consistency and detail.

  • Solid understanding of digital tools and their application to organizing including, but not limited to, peer-to-peer texting, broadcast texting, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Zoom, Google Apps, EveryAction/VAN preferred, etc

  • Track record of using data and supporting a team with data.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Self-motivated, highly accountable to your team, and comfortable and effective working in a remote environment.

  • Skilled in balancing the need for high quality work with expediency to meet campaign timelines.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a bonus
