Salary:$79,310-81,707

We are seeking a Program Manager to lead strong civic engagement programs in Arizona! The Program Manager will manage paid and volunteer voter outreach and build the civic engagement of women of color using direct voter contact tactics including canvassing, phone banking, and peer-to-peer texting.

The Program Manager will also be responsible for leading the development of the domestic worker organizing project in their state, including developing and overseeing the base-building and organizing programs, leading advocacy efforts to raise labor standards, supporting organizing sta?, developing and maintaining strategic alliances, and engaging in national domestic worker movement-building activities. Additionally, the Program Manager will be responsible for managing and executing the overall and day to day operational tasks necessary to run the civic engagement program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a powerful civic engagement operation, including volunteer and paid voter contact, focused on activating and mobilizing women of color

  • Implement statewide voter registration campaigns focused on unregistered voters of color.

  • Conduct year round organizing and base building activities and programs

  • Facilitate and lead on the execution of events and tactics that amplify the brand and build the base at Care In Action

  • Train, coach, and manage organizers and canvassers

  • Liaise with finance, human resources, and administrative departments to ensure smooth functioning of the program

  • Execute day to day administrative responsibilities to run the civic engagement program, including collecting hire documents, timesheets, processing reimbursements, and serving as the main point of contact for canvassers/phonebankers

  • Develop relationships and partnerships with local community, existing NDWA affiliates and chapters, and other allies focused on base-building with domestic workers

  • Execute campaign plans and effective organizing tactics including traditional grassroots voter contact

  • Provide support to the State Director with research, analysis, and other materials for coalition building and legislative priorities

  • Complete work plans and reports in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 cycles of field organizing experience with increasing responsibility

  • Expertise in 501c3 voter contact, including paid canvass, voter registration, volunteer management and phone banking

  • Experience building broad-based coalitions

  • Experience with voter files and voter contact work

  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills

  • Commitment to racial, social, and economic justice

  • Belief in the leadership and political power of women of color, especially Black women

  • Understanding of issues facing low-wage workers, immigrant and Black communities, and other communities of color

  • Commitment to support Black and Brown organizing and civic engagement, including following the leadership of Black and Brown women

  • Willingness to work long and unusual hours, including nights and weekends

  • Willingness to travel, reliable access to a vehicle is required for canvassing (NOTE: Although we work remotely, we will be opening an AZ office and will transition into working hybrid

  • Work with the national NDWA staff and attorneys to meet all legal and ethical requirements of a civic engagement organization

  • Relentless drive, tenacity and a willingness to do whatever it takes to advance our mission and values

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage the technical aspects of a project such as paperwork, on-boarding, off-boarding, timesheets, scheduling, internal and external deadlines, etc.

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities, peers, public officials, and allies

  • Pro?ciency with computer operations and programs

  • Experience running data-driven, digital-first campaigns strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in any of the following languages considered a major plus: Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, Korean, or French
