The New York Civic Engagement Table (NYCET) supports a diverse group of 60 community-based organizations in regions across New York State committed to creating a more just and democratic world through year-round civic engagement. The table provides technical tools, training, and collaboration that lead to long-term leadership development and deep empowerment of communities. Our efforts are focused on access – e.g. voting rights, voter protection so that people can participate; engagement – e.g. GOTV; education and advocacy so that people do participate; and representation – e.g. census and redistricting so that people’s power is not distorted when they participate. NYCET plays a crucial role as the strategic and shared resources hub.
