BRIEF

ParentsTogether has a vision of connecting, supporting, educating, and activating tens of millions of parents and caregivers on issues that impact families and kids. Influencers (often referred to as creators) are a key part of our overall strategy.

The world of influencer marketing and engagement can be an expensive one. Our goal is to create a financially sustainable business model that enables us to work with influencers at scale to produce outsized impact. At ParentsTogether, all of our work is shaped by Lean Startup principles, and we want our business model to reflect this. That means our approach to business development will be strongly rooted in identifying riskiest hypotheses, experimenting to find solutions, and evolving in real time based on the results of those experiments.

As the ParentsTogether Influencer Vertical Business Developer, you will support the departments business model exploration, especially in regards to corporate partnerships. You will be a key player in the growth of our influencer marketing and engagement model as a whole, and we want you to take part in both business development and strategic innovation.

You will report directly to our Director of Influencer Engagement. While your primary focus will be on scaffolding corporate partnerships, you may also participate in cultivating non-profit and grassroots partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and research potential corporate partners

  • Develop connections with potential partners

  • Coordinate with Director of Influencer Engagement and ParentsTogether cross-teams to develop creative and mutually beneficial social responsibility proposals

  • Assist in negotiating contract terms with partners and communicate with stakeholders

  • Assist in monitoring projects and ensure contracts are executed as agreed

  • Conduct ongoing market research

  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives

  • Create and implement processes and policies to support the overall business model

  • Track, identify and add qualified prospects to engagement pipeline

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business

  • Track and report on the status of proposal components

  • Work with the Director of Influencer Engagement and various cross-teams to create rate proposals and pay band rubrics

EXPERIENCE

  • Media sales and account management

  • Past engagement and/or relationships with corporations and businesses

  • Minimum 3-5 years business development experience (startups, B2B, business tech, influencer marketing, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the business value of enterprise B2B

  • Understanding of connections between grassroots advocacy and corporate social good campaigns

  • Ability to work nimbly under daily/weekly deadlines in an environment rooted in opportunistic testing and activation

  • A proven track record of overachievement and hitting targets

  • Credibility in connecting with constituents at various levels and evidence of building strong relationships

  • Consultative or value-selling experience preferable

  • Driven and competitive with a strong desire to lean test and drive MVPs

  • Curious, coachable, and willing to learn

  • Passion for supporting all families so they can thrive

  • Comfortable and willing to be a hands-on contributor

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment and give/receive feedback well.

TERMS

  • This is a temporary, freelance contract position requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week.

  • Initial contract length will be 6 months, but could be extended.

  • Compensation is $6500.00-7500.00/month depending on experience. Work will be done remotely.

  • Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled; preference will be given to those who apply by June 21, 2023 at midnight (ET). We aim to make our decision quickly, and hope candidates will start July 5, 2023.
