Priorities USA is deeply committed to expanding knowledge of digital best practices in the political advertising space. During the 2024 election cycle, we will run a robust training program that gives political spenders the tools they need to run smart, effective, research-based campaigns while staying on top of the constantly changing digital ecosystem.
As the Priorities USA Digital Training Manager, you will support the work of the political team by developing materials, planning and executing trainings, and providing ad hoc support to progressive digital spenders. You’re someone with a deep understanding of how campaigns can use digital advertising to accomplish their goals, who is comfortable in front of an audience, and who shares Priorities’ deep commitment to breaking down barriers in the digital space.
This position reports to the Political Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Advance and improve the use of digital advertising by partner organizations and other mission aligned organizations by...
  • Continuing to improve upon a comprehensive training curriculum around digital advertising best practices, which may include: reviewing past research and programs, working with internal and external stakeholders on content, and developing accessible, attractive training materials.
  • Leading regular and ad hoc virtual and in-person trainings for staff at partner organizations.
  • Actively working to identify additional external training opportunities and new training partnerships.
  • Creating and updating a suite of resources that are made available in a comprehensive online digital toolkit shared with partner organizations.
  • Answering questions from other digital spenders at all different levels of technical sophistication around best practices, program specifics, and the competitive landscape.
  • Clearly communicating training program updates to other members of the Political department.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-4 years of experience in political digital advertising. You understand the digital tools available, the pros and cons of each, and how digital ads fit into an organization’s larger goals. You’ve set up and run enough cross-platform ad campaigns that you can troubleshoot a program.
  • Experience communicating with diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and bringing a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
  • 2 years of experience training clients, customers or staff on technology/tools, or presenting to large audiences.
  • An understanding of the media landscape, including the desire to stay up to date on changes to policies both in the broader media space and political space.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
  • A passion for stunning visualizations. You like making clear, clean and beautiful presentations.
  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively and respond to crises calmly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Some experience with firewalled programs, whether on the coordinated or independent side. You understand what might make a firewall necessary, and what kinds of communication are and aren’t allowed as a result.
