SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE — CAMPAIGNS
RALLY is seeking a Senior Account Executive for Campaigns to join our firm. The Senior Account Executive is responsible for providing support to RALLY client project team members in the strategic development and implementation of clients’ electoral campaigns.
Our Senior Account Executives are responsible for managing RALLY’s role within a campaign and are steeped in execution. That means they are client-facing and they lead the development of campaign plans, electoral strategy, messaging frameworks, press plans, etc. Additionally, an individual in this position is expected to manage internal teams, advise external campaign staff, and provide support to senior management. They are fully integrated on our Campaigns team and are expected to think creatively and independently and take ownership of assigned projects. Senior Account Executives are able to manage projects with limited assistance, as well as work on multiple accounts and in differing roles. Senior Account Executives are also exposed to a wide variety of tasks and issue areas beyond their primary responsibilities.
No two days at RALLY are the same, but your day might start with leading a client check-in in the midst of a complex campaign launch followed by working with the printer to ensure a mailer is on schedule, followed by working with senior management to conceptualize or finalize a video script. On a different day, you may provide feedback to a candidate’s campaign manager on how to announce a key endorsement before shifting gears to prep for a discussion with a new client on their field campaign goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing strategic campaign consulting for multiple clients, including leading one to three accounts (potentially including candidates, independent expenditures/PACs, and ballot measures)

Engaging with clients on a daily basis—videoconferencing, on the phone, and/or via email, and text

Providing strategic guidance and day-to-day supervision for assigned client accounts, including junior staff mentorship, supervision, and oversight of work product quality

Anticipating client needs, as well as internal team needs and assignments, on a daily basis

Support all aspects of paid media for campaigns clients, including for TV ads, direct mail, and digital communications from concept to approvals to execution

Assist with campaign message development

Performing fundamental public relations tasks, such as developing and editing high-quality media materials (press releases, briefing memos, media advisories) and pitching and placing stories by and about clients in print, online, and broadcast outlets

Demonstrating tactical proficiency in a broad array of campaign strategies and tactics, including:Creating and managing campaign plans Developing field targets, including for phone banking, precinct walking, and texting Advising on execution of events Providing effective training of candidates and campaign spokespersons on speeches and presentations

Conducting data research and analysis, setting goals to win elections, defining target universes across multiple voter communication tools

Using digital election tools to support client operations (e.g. NationBuilder, etc.)

Managing and updating social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

Monitoring trends and changes in political landscapes, news media, and social media in targeted and active markets

Conducting issue and candidate research with the ability to distill key points and offer strategic insights on the information gathered

Attending regular staff, team, and client meetings, and providing input and feedback on business improvement, including the craft of client service, staff development, and office procedures

Pursuing your professional development plan developed in collaboration with your supervisor and mentor

Showing initiative by taking on new projects and actively growing new skill sets

Contributing to strategic growth and brand positioning for the firm overall
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Five-seven years of experience in public interest advocacy, public relations, or demonstrated equivalent at a firm/agency, foundation/association, or in an electoral campaign
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and proven ability to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Experience in issue advocacy and using communications to advance progressive issues
- Strong understanding of public relations concepts and tactics, including drafting press releases, building press lists, pitching, and engaging with reporters
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written format, with varying levels of company staff, clients, media, and vendors
- Strong computer skills, experience with Google Workspace, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, and a working knowledge of other web-based tools and platforms
- Ability to manage project workflow, manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Innovative and solutions-oriented mindset
- Demonstrate resourcefulness, optimism, and flexibility in approach to project assignments
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Intellectual curiosity, high emotional intelligence, and sense of humor
