SENIOR CONTENT WRITER

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for shaping narratives that inspire action and drive change? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where words have the power to make an impact? If you’re a sharp writer who can craft compelling messages that move audiences and elevate the most important issues of our time, you could be a great fit for the Senior Content Writer role on our growing team.

We’re looking for someone who brings both artistry and strategy to their writing—someone who can turn complex ideas into clear, engaging content that resonates across platforms. You’re a great fit for this role if you can adapt your voice for different audiences and formats, from thought-provoking op-eds and campaign scripts to social copy and long-form storytelling.

Whether your background is in journalism, copywriting, or advocacy, you’ll collaborate closely with account teams and clients to develop content that connects, informs, and inspires. If you’re a curious, collaborative communicator who finds joy in crafting words that make an impact, this opportunity could be for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and edit persuasive, high-quality content, including but not limited to op-eds, blog posts, speeches, digital ad copy, social media content, video scripts, and website copy
  • Utilize research to inform and enrich content, ensuring accuracy and resonance with target audiences
  • Develop and maintain consistent brand voice and tone across multiple projects and platforms
  • Translate technical or policy-heavy information into accessible, engaging language for diverse audiences
  • Work on multiple client accounts simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Present concept ideas and drafts to internal teams and clients, incorporating feedback effectively
  • Monitor trends in language, storytelling, and audience engagement to inform and elevate your work
  • Partner with designers, strategists, video producers, and other team members to produce cohesive and impactful content and scripts
  • Anticipate client needs, as well as internal team needs and assignments, on a daily basis
  • Manage and execute multiple, detailed tasks and projects for assigned client accounts
  • Attend regular staff, team, and client meetings, and provide input and feedback on business improvement, including the craft of client service, staff development, and office procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant professional experience in copywriting, nonfiction writing, journalism, or a similar role
  • 5–8 years of experience as a copywriter, content writer, journalist, or in a similar role, ideally in an agency, nonprofit, or advocacy setting
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates versatility across formats and audiences
  • Ability to translate scientific, complex, or policy-heavy information into clear, easy-to-understand content
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, with excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, high emotional intelligence, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • A strong understanding of digital platforms and content trends
  • Experience working on issue advocacy or social impact campaigns is a plus
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support client, team, and organizational priorities

Compensation and Timeline: The salary range for this position is $70,000–$85,000, with opportunities for growth and advancement based on performance and contributions to the team’s success. Most candidates are hired near the middle of the range to allow room for growth over time. We will review applications through November 21, 2025, and begin interviews shortly after that date. The anticipated start date for this position is January 6, 2026.
