About Scale to Win:

Scale to Win is a fully remote progressive, political tech company founded in 2020 by organizing leaders from the Biden/Harris, Bernie 2020, Warren 2020, Bernie 2016, and Hillary for America Presidential campaigns. Product offerings include Scale to Win Spoke, a P2P texting platform, and the Scale to Win Dialer, a predictive calling tool. Scale to Win offers turnkey “We Text” services, where our team builds text campaigns, sends messages, collects data, and ensures compliance on behalf of clients.

We work with more than 2000 Democratic and progressive campaigns and organizations driving change. Current and past clients include the Biden-Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee, the AOC campaign, the Working Families Party, Mary Peltola for Congress, and Mark Kelly for Senate.

Scale to Win is hiring a Messaging Strategy Compliance Manager to execute compliance functions (phone number registration and management) for new and existing clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Register texting clients for 10DLC, shortcode, and toll-free phone numbers
    • Proof and submit incoming phone number registrations in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Track registration and phone number order statuses and maintain up-to-date records for cross-team visibility.
    • Own chase, follow-through, and hand-off on blocked registrations.
  • Guide clients on number access and messaging strategy compliance rules
    • Serve as a point of contact for questions about phone number access and compliance requirements via tickets, emails, phone calls, or Zoom calls.
    • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of number types, registration flows, compliance rules, and tool features to guide clients through decision-making and offer advice tailored to their specific use case.
  • Design flows to optimize the registration experience
    • Collaboratively work across departments to streamline phone number registration processes and improve overall accessibility.
    • Document registration logic for internal and external uses.
    • Contribute to speccing and testing phone number registration and management features for our tools.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
    • Researching changes in the telephony industry compliance landscape to inform company policies.
    • Pitching messaging compliance-related content for the Scale to Win blog, marketing email list, or social media.
    • Cross-departmental collaborations to facilitate feature launches, high-intensity coverage, or quality assurance, for example.

Reports to Senior Account Manager for Compliance.

Note: this position is fully remote.

About You:

You might be an experienced digital organizer or fundraiser seeking a transition, or someone with deep compliance experience eager to dive into political tech. While not all of the following experiences are mandatory, it's likely you resonate with several of these points:

  • Passion for progressive politics. Scale to Win works exclusively with Democratic and progressive candidates and causes. You’re committed to advancing a more just future for all.
  • Background in political campaigning. You understand the campaign mindset and how digital tools play a critical, time-sensitive role in fundraising and organizing success.
  • A quick learner with a sensitivity to how regulations affect business. Whether you’re an experienced compliance pro or curious to learn about the wonky world of phone number registration compliance, you’re keen to unpack how regulatory requirements impact our clients and business. You care about ensuring our customers are set up for success - and you recognize the importance of presenting user-friendly documentation, maintaining accurate internal records, and staying on top of whirlwind changes in a byzantine landscape to meet that goal.
  • A systems thinker. You have a knack for analyzing systems and data flows, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing ways to address them. You take pride in designing and implementing processes to optimize user journeys (internally and externally) and minimize churn.
  • Familiarity using CRMs. We use several data-management tools (including Hubspot, Airtable, and Stacker) to track clients and manage phone number registrations. Maintaining these systems demands the willingness to enter records accurately, perform regular quality assurance, and promptly signal changes to other users of the system.
  • Experience with client comms. We manage tickets from clients in customer engagement software (Freshdesk) and take pride in ensuring clients receive quick and helpful written responses. We also work with clients over emails, phone calls, and Zoom calls, where cheerful professionalism is a must-have skill.
  • An enthusiastic teacher. You understand how to present complex information and decision points in a way that facilitates retention and prevents overload. You’re skilled in matching different learning styles, summarizing processes in various formats, and generating materials that help users get what they need without reading fatigue.
  • A detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. You’re attracted to understanding the relationships between individual pieces of a whole and interrogating the snowball effects that seemingly minor changes can have on the health of a system over time. You keep notes to ensure teachable moments endure and you probe for answers to your open questions.
  • A creative problem solver and self-starter. You’re someone who can disagree without being disagreeable. You’re enthusiastic about coming up with new ideas and have the follow-through to bring those new ideas to life.

The offer

  • $76,000 yearly salary. As part of our commitment to equity, salaries are non-negotiable: everyone in the same role receives the same salary.
  • Remote working with flexible working conditions so that you can balance family or other commitments. We’re also open to part-time and contractor arrangements.
  • Ten company holidays, two floating holidays, and a weeklong holiday break at the end of the year.
  • Generous paid vacation (up to 24 days a year with time accrued monthly); paid sick leave; paid short-term medical, caregiver, bereavement, and other personal leave.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave and an additional 4 weeks of part-time, fully-paid flex time. This is available to all new parents of any gender, including adoptive parents.
  • Fully-paid premium, $0 deductible, top-notch medical/dental/vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Additional benefits: support to attend protests, reimbursement for tools, and access to a company computer.
