The NYS Public Employees Federation (PEF) is a diverse and powerful New York State labor union

scientific, and technical workers in NYS government. Members include healthcare, education,
corrections and supervision, youth services, direct care, and other professional titles.
Position Summary:
The Regional Director will coordinate, deliver and monitor PEF resources and programs to PEF
members through the direct supervision of professional and administrative staff in New York City and
Long Island.

Key Functions:
Supervise, coordinate and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.
Communicate with Regional Coordinators to insure proper delivery of PEF services through field
representatives.
Communicate with Division Leaders on a periodic basis in an effort to review and monitor PEF
services and programs for their respective divisions.
Meet at least monthly with each Regional Coordinator of assigned regions and discuss areas of
concern and address same.
Report directly to the Statewide Director of Field Services all activities and developments
relevant to PEF Field Services.
Review and approve all Step 3 appeals, demands for arbitration and Improper Practice charges.
Serve as a resource to the PEF Labor/Management Committees as well as ad hoc, standing and
contract committees, as needed.
Provide assistance to the PEF Health and Safety and Organizing programs.
Perform special assignments as directed.
Consistent and reliable attendance.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a strong labor relations background which includes enforcing the
collective bargaining agreement through, and including, the arbitration process.
Supervisory experience is required.
Successful candidate must demonstrate:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) with
staff, union members & elected members, and our executive team.
Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple
projects and deadlines.
A collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented mindset.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range: $111,572.00 (minimum) - $138,252.00 (maximum).
