ABOUT SHARED VALUE MEDIA Shared Value Media (SVM) is a communications and strategy firm specializing in socially impactful, community-led projects. From California to New York, we design and implement outreach programs in tandem with coalitions of community partners to drive measurable change. Our work focuses on public sector initiatives in collaboration with state and city governments, in addition to a portfolio of nonprofit and private-sector clients. SVM is a proud small business. ABOUT THIS ROLE SVM is seeking a Director of Tech & Data Strategy to lead the design and implementation of technical infrastructure that supports decentralized community outreach projects, as well as manage internal technical solutions. The Director of T&DS will serve as a valued member of the SVM leadership team (reporting directly to the President), helping to strengthen and inform the growth and direction of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong data and technology background, including an understanding of data structures and information architecture (IA) fundamentals, and experience with tracking online and offline metrics. They will also thrive in an environment where they must communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is a full-time, remote position with quarterly travel expectation.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Support Client Programs Oversee the technical components of community engagement projects and act as a client liaison across a portfolio of programs and campaigns Assess and provide recommendations related to program technical infrastructure Research and evaluate front/backend solutions, including off-the-shelf software Lead and own planning, configuration, and execution of program-related deliverables

Generate stack documentation and end-user resources like tutorials and walkthroughs Work with the Account team to identify KPIs; develop frameworks for tracking outcomes, impacts of campaigns; develop dashboards and reports

Actively prioritize and monitor timelines, resources, budgets, risks, and tasks for multiple concurrent projects Approach all technical questions and projects with the needs of community partners in mind Internal Operations Collaborate with our outsourced IT firm to manage team hardware procurement, technical onboarding of new hires, software licenses, security, and file management

Identify and consult on solutions for challenges related to privacy, accessibility, and security Build and implement standardized processes and workflows to improve efficiency related to use of technology Leadership Manage and support SVM’s Data Analyst by providing direction on and QA for data analyses and outputs Assist with informing the growth and direction of the company Participate in periodic (quarterly or biannual) in-person Director meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years of technical program or product management experience in a client-facing role 2+ years of managerial experience Core knowledge of data models, information architecture fundamentals, and/or basic database principles Interest in solving data problems, particularly in service of community impact work Experience evaluating and implementing front/backend solutions, including off-the-shelf software, for program use (coding experience not required) Strong project management skills with a track record of successful and timely delivery Comfort with both linear and iterative project management approaches and proficiency with standard project management tools Strategic decision-making skills resulting in quantifiable program outcomes Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate project barriers and adjust approaches based on research and experience Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and synthesis Collaborative management style with a focus on supporting direct reports' professional development and growth Nice-to-have qualifications: Experience working on data-centric application development or data ETL

Experience developing client-facing dashboards/centralized information

Familiarity with a programming or querying language for data wrangling, preferably Python or SQL Familiarity with API integration and/or workflow automation tools Basic proficiency working with geospatial information (e.g., in ArcGIS, Carto, or Mapbox) Experience training others (including non-tech individuals) on technical solutions Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods for program evaluation Experience working in a fast-paced agency or tech environment

Demonstrated Engagement In Social Impact Work COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
